Nhu Dan (The Nepalese New Year) falls during Tihar, the “Festival of Lights”.

SUKUNDA RALLEY IS HELD ON THIS DAY, a prayer ritual for their own health and wellbeing. It is conducted on The first day of
NEPAL SAMBAT ( Nepal Sambat is the National Calendar of Nepal) Where Newa Ladies elegantly dressed in traditional attire carrying the auspicious lamp lit and candles in the procession with the beating of the dhimey baja and cymbals to usher in the New Year. This day also signifies the beginning of a new dawn, a new dawn
that all poeple's hope will bring good luck, fortune and more happiness in their lives. From the youngest to the eldest, come together to perform this ritual.
