6th SBLC (SAARC Business Leaders Conclave 2018)

The Sixth SAARC Business Leaders Conclave organized by the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARC CCI) will be held on March 16, 2018 in Kathmandu, Nepal for 3 days. SAARC CCI president Suraj Vaidya has stated that the sixth SBLC will be held in collaboration with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The theme for the upcoming conclave is ‘Unleashing Shared Prosperity through Economic Integration’. Over 500 business leaders, eminent international experts and senior influencers from both public and private sectors of SAARC member nations are expected to attend the conclave and contribute to the economic development of the region.

Highlighting the importance of economic integration in South Asia, SAARC CCI president Suraj Vaidya stated the urgency of the need for new policies to stimulate the economic growth, as the whole region remains plagued by extreme poverty. He stressed the need of opening markets and lowering trade and investment barriers as well as that the SAARC members should improve economic freedom with the main focus on strengthening the rule of law.
