Call for Volunteer Contributors: Research & Educational Initiative on Cancer Cachexia
Ehealthyinfo is excited to invite passionate and skilled individuals to contribute to a significant research and educational initiative focused on Cancer Cachexia. This project aims to enhance the understanding and management of this critical, yet often under-recognized, wasting disorder among healthcare professionals. This independent education initiative is supported by a prestigious Independent Medical Education Grant from Pfizer. The project will be led by Dr Rochana Acharya (Lead Project Manager) & Bibhusan Basnet, MD, MS, FACP.
Project Overview:
Our goal is to develop and disseminate high-quality educational content and insights that will empower healthcare professionals to:
1. Accurately recognize the early signs and symptoms of cancer cachexia.
Effectively utilize diagnostic tools for comprehensive assessment, measurement, and precise documentation of cachexia in patient records.
2. Apply current strategies to improve appetite, lean body mass, or physical function in patients affected by cachexia.
3. Become proficient with the mechanism of GDF-15 and its emerging role as a therapeutic target in cachexia treatment.
Opportunity to Contribute and Grow: This volunteer opportunity offers a unique platform to contribute to a high-impact project while fostering personal and professional growth. 1. Develop expertise in synthesizing complex medical information for diverse educational formats, including comprehensive review articles and other pedagogical materials.
2. Potentially achieve authorship on publications in high-impact international journals, subject to contribution quality and journal editorial review.
3. Work alongside a dedicated, multi-institutional team committed to advancing medical knowledge and patient care.
Commitment:
Estimated 7-10 hours per week
Project Duration: 3 months
