World Down Syndrome Day 2023 - Everest Base Camp

World Down Syndrome Day 2023 - Everest Base Camp This is the World Down Syndrome day program event for 2023 which is going to celebrate on Everest Base Camp.

As everybody knew the 21st number is symbolic number of Downs Syndrome concern. Down syndrome is a chromosomal condition that occurs when an error in cell division results in an extra chromosome 21. According to WHO, between 1979 and 2003, the number of babies born with Down syndrome is increased by 30%. There’s a long way in increasing the degree of acknowledgement of DS as any other genetic disa

bility amidst the world population. To draw attention of world towards the increasing hardships of DS, Down’s syndrome Association of Nepal in collaboration with Wilderness Experience is going to organize World Down Syndrome Day (21st March) on 2021 at Everest Base Camp. We believe, this world and abundance of opportunities it brings along should be same for everyone, irrespective of their differently abled condition. If we are the advocates of equity and fairplay, this event not only gives us an opportunity to walk the talk but also be an agent of change. Change in policy making, change in the way we look at our DS children and to change the girth of barometer that we use to compare any normal child with the DS child.
