Meaningful learning includes opportunities for learners to reflect on their own progress.
Reflection encourages learners to recognize what they have understood, identify areas for improvement, and plan their next steps with confidence.
When teachers create regular moments for thoughtful reflection, learners gradually become more independent, responsible, and actively engaged in their own learning.
Assessment becomes even more powerful when learners are involved in the process.
Learning doesn't end when the lesson ends.
Sometimes, the most powerful learning begins when learners pause and ask themselves:
What did I learn today?
What challenged me?
What will I do differently next time?
Reflection helps learners become active participants in their own learning instead of passive receivers of information.
As teachers, we often ask questions.
But how often do we create time for learners to ask questions about their own learning?
Reflection turns assessment into personal growth.
