Her story is a testament to the strength found in our region, and we believe it deserves to be shared directly with those who look up to her. Dolpopa for Dolpo is organizing a virtual meeting to hear about what the Buddhist Philosophy Promotion and Monastery Development Committee of the Government of Nepal has been doing so far to help rural monasteries in Dolpo. Please join us on the time mentioned in the flyer.

Introduction of the Guest Speaker:

Menri Geshe Khenpo Nyima Kunkhyab was born in Dolpo, Nepal. From 1982 to 1994, he studied at Menriling Monastery in Himachal Pradesh, India. From 1994 to 2007, he worked as a teacher at the Central University of Tibetan Studies for 13 years. From 2007 to 2014, he became the vice-president of the Nepal Bön Association. He served as the Chairman of the Association from 2015 to 14 January 2026. On January 8, 2020, Geshe la was appointed as the Khenpo of the Barlay Yungdrung Shugtshal Monastery based in Tichurong, Dolpo.

In 2009, Geshe la established the Dolpo Bon School in Dunai, the headquarters of Dolpa district. There are currently 95 students up to the 8th grade. The school also provides food, clothing and shelter to poor and needy children in Dolpo. On January 14, 2026, Geshe la was appointed as the head of Buddhist Philosophy Promotion and Monastery Development Committee of the Government of Nepal.
