Human Rights Network (hereafter, HR Network) Sunsari is a loose network of various organizations working in different themes for the promotion and protection of human rights. The network was formed in and had worked a lot even in the conflicting period and lastly the executive committee has been reformed in January 2014. After its reformation, the network is focusing on its motto, 'Let's work fo
r the promotion of peace and human rights together…' and is working for the coordination, cooperation and mutual understanding in between different CBOs, NGOs, INGOs and other stakeholders for the promotion and protection of human rights. On the one hand the network focuses on the empowerment of its members for common understanding and on the other it is also in the process of developing human rights culture/nonviolence culture in the district. The network has prepared a yearly plan of action and is currently following it. It is working having the following objectives.
• To enhance coordination, cooperation and mutual understanding in between the active human rights organizations and develop the culture of peace by strengthening the common forum.
• To make the state accountable and responsible for the respect, protection, promotion and implementation of human rights by developing the culture group effort and common understanding within human rights organization and motivating the member of network for accountability, transparency and effective role.
• To advocacy for the promotion and protection of human rights on the basis of monitoring reports and documented facts.
• To perform other activities those are felt required by the HR Network for the promotion and protection of human rights and sustainable peace with development.
