HON. CHRISTIAN OKPAMBOR CHARGES YOUTH ON HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
*As Tomi, Nyemike others call for increased Youth Participation in Politics…

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Youth Mobilization for Positive Change and founder of Christian Okpambor Foundation, Hon. Christian Okpambor has charged youths to develop themselves if they must become relevant and self-reliant, noting that Government alone cannot have all the youths employed.

Hon. Okpambor gave the charge on Wednesday August 9th 2017, while speaking to press men just after a meeting with relevant Youth stakeholders in his office. While condemning the recent killing of innocent worshipers at a Catholic Church in Ozubulu community in Anambra state, the Apostle of Change as he is fondly called on the men of the Nigerian Police to speedily bring the culprits to book.

While also noting that there are so many youths with certificates that are not working, the Governor's aide advised the youths to acquire skills in addition to their certificates so as to make themselves self reliant and relevant. He said as young people, the youths must begin to assist their fellow young people to see how they can project and lift those at the top higher. “As part of responsibilities of young people, Nigerian youths should see themselves as the solutions to Nigeria's problems, think differently from the old cargo as well as ‘dream Nigeria’ at all times.”

Also speaking, Delta state Coordinator of the Torch Group, Nigeria, a socio-political group which had timelessly clamored for the inclusion of youths in governance, Comr. Tomi Akporoghene Wojuola, criticized the way and manner in which the Federal Government had relegated the youths in political participation.

“I have and will continually criticize the Federal Governments positions on Youths inclusion in governance, the activities of our supposed leaders do not add up. If Mr Audu Ogbeh who was a Minister when my father was a young man, could still be appointed as a Minister today, when my father is now an old man, then there is something seriously wrong with those at the helm of Affairs in our country, and that is why they would rather import grass to feed cows than grow rice to feed humans. The youths have to participate actively so as to contribute their own quota to National Development” he said While Comrade Nyemike Ukwadinachi, an Ambassador of the and CEO Generation Okowa Foundation, further admonished the youths not to make themselves available to politicians for political violence, he explained that politicians will use and dump the youths as soon as they finish using them as thugs to rig elections and cause electoral violence. Noting that before we can change our Country, the youths, and Nigerians in general must change their mindsets, while commending the National Assembly for passing the bill, Nyemike called on youths to pick up forms to contest for the forthcoming Local Government elections and every other subsequent elections to come in Delta state.

INDUSTRIALIZATION IS THE ONLY WAY:- Hon. Christian Okpambor

The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta state Governor on Youth Mobilization for Positive Change, Hon. Christian Okpambor has said that industrialization is the only way to develop Nigeria.
The Governor's Aide stated this on Tuesday, September 13,2016 during a chat with Ika Weekly reporters at his Boji Boji, Owa residence.

The amiable Gentleman, who is also known as Okpams Georgia, spoke on several issues including the current economic recession that is ravaging the country.

Hon. Okpambor, stated that the situation in Nigeria now, is no more what it used to be. He noted that the current melt down is a global problem especially with the oil producing and exporting countries in the world, which are not finding it easy because they so much depend on Oil. He used Venezuela as a country that is adversely affected because of the fall in the prices of crude Oil at the International market.
The Senior Special Assistant, however observed that in a country like Nigeria, it is only God that is saving the economy because most Nigerians are farmers. "The farming that we abandoned because we saw Oil is what we are reaping today".

Continuing, he disclosed that "The Saudis are crying today because of the oil crash in the prices of crude at the International market. They have several investments all over the world. They have avenues where money is generated from.

Hence, I am advocating that Nigeria wholistically should embrace the establishment of industries and food production like in the past when states had comparative cost advantage over the other, through exporting their goods and services in exchange of money. Industrialization is the only way out from the current economic recession and financial quagmire bedevilling our country, Nigeria. "Okpams Georgia, also stated that for businness to thrive, Government should provide the citizens with enabling environment.

Speaking on the fight against corruption by the President muhhammadu Buhari, led federal Government he stated that the present situation of where we are, was caused by the excesses of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP), hence the President should not be one sided in apprehending corrupt politicians who are in the opposition party, but he should also prosecute those found wanting that are within the ruling party.

He urged the youths in the state, to take up viable ventures, rather than leaving the shores of Nigeria through the Mediterranean, chasing uncertanty.

He commended the efforts of the state Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for the giant strides which his administration is making even with the decline in the Federal Allocation. He however noted that the masses of the state, just like Oliver Twist, are asking for more from the state Government in the provision of infrastructures and dividends of democracy.

THE OKOWA'S SMART AGENDA TO ENGAGE DELTA YOUTHS POSITIVELY: -Hon. Christian Okpambor

The Chairman of Generation Okowa and the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta state Governor on Youth Mobilization for Positive change Hon. Christian Okpambor has urged Delta youths to shun violence and every social vices that will not promote the growth and development of our state.

In a statement released to the media arm of his office, Okpambor
further stated and encouraged the youths to imbibe in positive value towards achieving sustainable development and growth of the SMART Agenda of the amiable Governor Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa led administration of Delta state.

NOTHING WILL THREATEN OKOWA'S ELECTION IN 2019, SAYS DELTA SPEAKER.

The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Monday Igbuya on Sunday reaffirmed his positions on the future of the state.

“The PDP is fully planted everywhere in Delta State. Nothing will threaten Okowa’s re-election in 2019. We will stand by him” he said.

Igbuya who spoke on governorship location in 2019, tenure and other matters at the first anniversary thanksgiving service of the Sixth Assembly released praises and accolades on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

“By the legislative rule, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is the 30 member of the Delta State House of Assembly. He is a miracle working governor.

Delta State should count itself as blessed for producing somebody like Okowa. He has performed well under an unfriendly economic situation and will continue to do his good work for the state” he said.

The Speaker commended Okowa for his fatherly support and regular payment of salaries to the workers.

“We will continue to support Governor Okowa and all his programmes aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of people of the state”.

Focusing on stability, unity and economic reforms, Igbuya, a political tactician, said “it is the interest of Delta State for Okowa to continue in office beyond May 2019” He urged Deltans at home and abroad to
continue to pray for Governor Okowa.

He also asked his colleagues to forgive him for past mistakes.
“It is not easy leading 28 brains. Let us continue to work in unity”
The thanksgiving service held at Divine Way Baptist Church, Okpanam Road, Asaba was attended by top government functionaries, industry captains, academics, traditional rulers and others.

SOUTH SOUTH, STRONGHOLD OF PDP, SAYS OKOWA

FORMER Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Elder Emmanuel Ogidi has emerged the National Vice Chairman, South-South of the party in an election, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his Rivers State counterpart, Chief Nyesom Wike; described as peaceful and acceptable to all stakeholders..

It would be recalled that Elder Ogidi midwifed the 2007 governorship elections in Delta State as the state Chairman of the PDP and, at the weekend, took over the National Vice Chairmanship position from another Deltan, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh..

Okowa, who led the Delta State delegates to vote at the zonal congress which was held at the Obi-Wali International Conference Centre, Port Harcourt, Rivers State said, “what you saw today was expected, peaceful and acceptable elections by all party men and women because, the South South zone is the stronghold of the PDP.”

“All the PDP governors from the zone are here, all the delegates are here, there is no dispute, there is no rancour, we are a family and we shall continue to strengthen this party to take it to the next level,” the governor said in an interview.

Governor Wike who spoke on behalf of the governors at the congress, commended the delegates for their matured disposition and commitment to the growth of the party.

He expressed confidence that the party was on the path of irreversible progress, while Elder Ogidi on behalf of the committee said the party’s fortune will receive a boost as a result of the peaceful congress, adding that it was important for the party to recapture Edo State in the forthcoming governorship elections.

The Minority Leader of the Upper Legislative Chambers, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Leo Ogor, and the immediate past National Vice Chairman of the party, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, among others spoke at the occasion where they charged members of the party in the zone to remain intact as the zone remains a rallying point for the PDP to win in the 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory in the 2019 elections.

Other governors present at the congress were that of Akwa Ibom – Mr. Emmanuel Udom; Bayelsa – Seriake Dickson; and Cross River State – Prof. Benedict Ayade.

The deputy governors from the South South geo-political zone and all the delegates from the states, including their recently elected state party chairmen were all present at the congress.
Another Deltan, Mrs. Tessy Ese Torru, emerged the Zonal Woman Leader, while Hon. Bayelayefa Dibekeme from Bayelsa State clinched the position of zonal secretary and Mrs. Justina Emeh from Rivers State was elected treasurer.
