We are Budhi and Sonja a Nepali / Dutch couple. In January 2014 we opened the doors of our homestay, a countryside location closely situated to the entrance of #BardiaNationalPark in #WestNepal. In 2017 we received the ‘certificate of excellence’ on Tripadvisor and in January 2018 and January 2019 we are among the top 5 position on #Tripadvisorstravellerschoice award list for B&B’s in Nepal. In 2019 we received a #letterofappreciation for our succes from the Nepali Deputy Prime Minister. We feel blessed and grateful that more than 1000 guests visited, supported and recommended us for the last 6 years. Every day we are still happy to give our guests an memorable experience.
We heartily welcome you too, to our homestay where we live with Budhi his family.We met each other for the first time in March 2011, when Sonja was traveling in Nepal. Afterwards we have travelled many times together in Nepal and Europe before we started to build our own house in Nepal in 2013. A perfect place for people who have a passion for nature and wildlife, for travellers who like to experience the countryside and the Nepali Tharu culture and for the adventurous who like to explore the unspoiled nature of West Nepal.
Our accommodation
We have five spacious twin rooms with double and single beds. Each room has an attached bathroom with a hot shower, separated toilet, waterbasin, mosquito nets and a ceiling - and a and stand fan to keep you cool during warmer days. We have a laundry service and there is free WiFi 24 hours. In the small dining-room you can read books, play games and enjoy Nepali and Western food made from local fresh produce. You can relax on the veranda or in the shade from the fruit trees. On a cold evening you can sit next to the campfire. In short a perfect place to experience the Nepalese way of living.
Our activities
We offer the following activities:
- Discover Bardia National Park; jungle walk, jeep safari, rafting, fishing, camping and trekking activities
- Explore the countryside and to meet the Tharu people; walking and bicycling, motor and jeep tours, Tharu dancing and cookingclasses. And of course you can join us during a festival.
- Far West Nepal tours; Trekking in Khaptad National Park, Rara Lake National Park and jungle safari in Shuklaphanta National Park. One day and multiday tours (rafting, jeep or walking) in the gorgeous Karnali and Bheri river area.
You are welcome for a short time, but if you really want to enjoy Bardia, we advise you to stay at least 4 to 5 days. This gives you the opportunity to discover the park and surroundings in different ways and it will increase your chances to see the wildlife. You can decide in advance what activities you would like to do, but it is also possible to book only a room. On the day of arrival we talk about your wishes and we can still organise most of the activities.
