Some of our members have asked about 4th of July celebrations this year. While the annual event at Frogner Park will not be taking place (see explanation below), we’ll be gathering in Oslo on June 14 to mark Flag Day, No Kings / Dictators Day 4, and Independence Day.
Join us for the Yes We Vote! DAN Oslo Scavenger Hunt, followed by a picnic at Kontraskjæret.
Working in teams of four, participants will explore Oslo Sentrum, visiting sites that tell the story of Norwegian resistance during World War II. Along the way, you’ll solve clues, complete challenges, and learn about the people who stood up for democracy and freedom in difficult times. As democracy and fundamental rights face growing challenges in the United States, understanding these historical struggles can inspire and inform our efforts today.
After the scavenger hunt, we’ll gather at Kontraskjæret for a picnic and an opportunity to connect with fellow members. Building community is more important than ever as we look ahead to the midterm elections, and we hope you’ll join us for an afternoon of learning, reflection, and fun.
