President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a telegram of condolence to King Haakon VIII on the passing of his beloved father, His Majesty King Harald V.

– King Harald V was an outstanding statesman and a true symbol of unity, resilience and the incredible progress of the Kingdom of Norway. Throughout his long and distinguished reign, he served his country with dignity, wisdom and unwavering devotion to the welfare of his people, earning their genuine respect and affection, – the telegram says.

Ambassador Adil Tursunov participated in the ONS 2026, a major global energy conference and exhibition which takes place these days in Stavanger. He engaged with Norwegian and international delegates, experts and oil industry leaders, exchanging ideas and exploring new opportunities for cooperation.

Data from our Energy Ministry put Kazakhstan’s 2025 oil and gas condensate production at nearly 100 million tons. The country’s proven oil reserves remained unchanged at 30 billion barrels over the past decade.

With the world’s largest proven uranium reserves and more than 40 percent of global uranium production, Kazakhstan has for decades been a vital part of both the European and global nuclear energy markets. Astana now supplies to the EU nearly 16% of its natural uranium imports.

In 2025, Kazakhstan ranked as the EU’s third-largest supplier of petroleum oil, just behind the United States and Norway, with exports totaling 60 million tons. The Government aims to lift oil exports to 70 million tons this year, with Italy, the Netherlands, France, Romania
and Greece among its top buyers.

At the same time Kazakhstan is seeking to diversify its oil export routes as global energy markets undergo shifts. The Government has been promoting the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which involves sending crude oil across the Caspian Sea and into the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, which reaches the Mediterranean Sea and bypasses the Black Sea, for delivery to the European market.

Today, around 80 percent of Kazakhstan’s oil exports go to EU member states. To make export diversification sustainable, Kazakhstan is planning to scale up infrastructure investment, secure long-term contracts with European states, and strengthen cooperation with transit countries around the Caspian and Black Sea.

Kazakhstan will remain to be a key, long term and reliable supplier of hydrocarbons and uranium to European industries and consumers, making a significant contribution to the EU’s energy security.

Тронхейм, 2026 жылғы 22 тамыз – Тронхеймдегі қазақ диаспорасының өкілдері Қазақстан Республикасының Норвегия Корольдігіндегі Елшілігінің қолдауымен қаланың орталық алаңында өткен жыл сайынғы Тілдер мен мәдениеттер фестиваліне (Språk- og Kulturfestivalen) қатысты.
Фестиваль Норвегияда тұратын ондаған ел мен мәдениеттің өкілдерін біріктіріп, мәдениетаралық диалог орнатуға, түрлі халықтардың ұлттық дәстүрлерімен, музыкасымен, тағамдарымен және мәдени мұрасымен танысуға арналған алаңға айналды.
Фестиваль аясында Қазақстанның ұлттық стенді ұйымдастырылды. Kazakhstan Represented at the Language and Culture Festival in Trondheim

Trondheim, 22 August 2026 – Representatives of the Kazakh diaspora in Trondheim, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of Norway, took part in the annual Language and Culture Festival (Språk- og Kulturfestivalen), held in the city’s central square.
The festival brought together representatives of dozens of countries and cultures living in Norway and served as a platform for intercultural dialogue and for discovering the national traditions, music, cuisine, and cultural heritage of different peoples.
A Kazakhstan national stand was organized at the festival. Visitors were introduced to Kazakh national traditions, traditional arts and crafts, and national cuisine, as well as information about modern Kazakhstan, its history, cultural diversity, and traditions of hospitality. Participation in the festival contributed to promoting Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage, strengthening intercultural dialogue, and developing ties between the Kazakh diaspora and the local community.
The Embassy expresses its gratitude to the representatives of the Kazakh diaspora in Trondheim for their initiative, organization of the national stand, and active efforts to promote Kazakh culture in Norway.
