How are we handling the recent market developments? In times like these, it is important to remember that the fund is a long-term investor, able to withstand periods of significant volatility 📉 📈
 
CEO Nicolai Tangen says “we are closely monitoring the market development. The market has reacted negatively to rising tariffs and the potential consequences of a trade war. These could include slower growth, disruptions to supply chains, and potentially higher inflation.”
 
👩‍💻 Much of the risk in the fund is driven by how much of the fund is invested in equities and how much equity prices fluctuate. Movements in interest rates, credit premiums and exchange rates also play a role. The fund’s exposure to market risk is determined primarily by the composition of the benchmark index.
 
“We have repeatedly stated that we cannot expect the market to continue rising and must be prepared for more challenging times ahead. Our stress tests show that the fund could fall by 40 percent in value in a scenario with a more fragmented world”, Nicolai says.
 
📊 The fund’s investments are spread across most markets and currencies to capture global value creation and diversify risk as best as possible. About 70 percent is invested in equities and 30 percent in fixed income. Up to 7 percent can be invested in unlisted real estate and up to 2 percent in unlisted renewable energy infrastructure.
 
We manage the fund with the aim of the highest possible return with moderate risk. To achieve this, we need to identify, measure and manage the risks the fund faces.
