"Official Statement of Public Condemnation"

As a citizen of Liberia, issue this formal and unequivocal condemnation of the deliberate and damaging misinformation presented by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai during the most recent State of the Nation Address.

The assertions that 70,000 jobs have been created, and that significant, measurable improvements have been made in education, healthcare, agriculture, housing, the economy, justice, and food security are not merely optimistic projections. They are, by the stark and painful evidence witnessed daily in every county, demonstrable falsehoods. To present such a fictional account of national progress while the nation endures profound systemic collapse is a profound betrayal of the public trust and an insult to the intelligence and suffering of the Liberian people.

The reality is one of acute crisis:
1 A healthcare system: in critical condition, lacking basic supplies and staffed by dedicated professionals who are demoralized by neglect and criminally inadequate compensation.

2 An educational system: failing our youth, with dilapidated infrastructure and teachers who cannot sustain themselves on the salaries provided.
1 An agricultural sector: unable to ensure national food security, leaving our people vulnerable and hungry.

3 An economic system: characterized by unbearable hardship, where the cost of living paralyzes families and strangles opportunity.

This is not a season of renewal, as portrayed. It is a period of severe breakdown. To fabricate achievements in the face of such widespread distress is not leadership; it is a cruel deception that deepens the national despair and erodes the very foundations of our democracy.

Why lie to us? This question echoes from every home, every clinic, every schoolhouse, and every farm. The people of Liberia are not fools. We live the truth of the failed systems every single day. This deception is a calculated attempt to mask failure and obscure a glaring lack of tangible, actionable plans to rescue the nation from its multi-faceted emergency.

Therefore, it is our solemn duty as citizens to declare that this administration has lost its moral authority to govern based on this breach of faith.

I serve notice of the majority of Liberian's collective intent. In the forthcoming 2029 general elections, we shall exercise our sovereign power to "vote President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr out of office". We shall turn our support to a leader who offers not empty words, but clear competence, proven integrity, and a detailed vision for reconstruction.

We believe that Mr. Alexander B. Cummings presents such an alternative. He offers a blueprint for the tangible repair of our nation a commitment to fixing the broken foundations, rebuilding our institutions with transparency, and restoring dignity to the Liberian people through honest governance and pragmatic solutions.

This is our stand. We will no longer be pacified by fiction. We demand truth. We demand action. We demand a future that matches the promise of our nation, and we will secure it at the ballot box.

"The Time for Truth and Reconstruction is Now".

To my beloved family, cherished friends, treasured loved ones, and dear followers,

As we stand on the threshold of the year 2026, I speak to you with a heart resolute and a spirit unyielding. This is not merely another year passing by; it is a pivotal moment in the ongoing journey of our collective dreams and aspirations. We must continue the sacred conversation boldly and unwaveringly about creating dreams and setting goals that are not only ambitious but deeply rooted in purpose and faith. Above all else, let us seek the blessings and protection of God, for it is His guidance that fortifies our path and shelters us through every storm.

The challenges that confront us are immense, but so too is the strength that resides within each of us. We cannot afford complacency or retreat. The rebuilding of the future is not a passive hope; it is a call to relentless action. For the generations yet to come, we are the architects of a legacy that demands courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment. Every step we take today echoes into the lives of those who follow, carving out space for them to advance with wisdom, courage, and grand vision.

Let us remind ourselves that dreams are not frivolous fantasies but the blueprint for transformation. The goals we set must challenge the status quo and inspire innovation, compassion, and justice. Together, aligned with divine protection and purpose, we can dismantle the barriers that hinder growth and erect new foundations of opportunity and hope. It is within our hands to shape a future where every child, every young person, every member of our communities can thrive without limitation.

This mission demands more than mere words it calls for tenacity and sacrifice. We must nurture the conversations that ignite passion and fuel perseverance. We must amplify voices that envision greatness beyond circumstance. And we must teach the value of faith as the bedrock upon which all success is built. Only with God first His blessing and shield can our efforts transform dreams from fleeting thoughts into enduring realities.

To my family, friends, loved ones, and followers, I implore you: do not let the fire of aspiration dim. Do not waver in your dedication to build, to heal, and to lift up. The future generations are counting on us not only to provide but to inspire. We hold the sacred trust to pave a pathway broad enough and strong enough for those who will walk after us to run toward their own extraordinary destinies.

In this decisive year of 2026, let us unite in purpose, strength, and faith. May our dreams be grand, our goals steadfast, and our actions infused with the blessings and protection of God. Together, we will continue the fight not as isolated individuals but as a powerful family committed to creating a legacy of hope, opportunity, and transformative justice for generations to come. The time is now. The responsibility is ours. And with God as our shield, the future is ours to create.

Explanation addressing the paradox of B**g County’s abundant human potential despite its underdevelopment, the challenges contributing to this situation, and a call for change in leadership and governance:
By:D Benedict Bestman Barkolleh Jr.

The Paradox of B**g County: Abundant Talent, Limited Development

B**g County, located in the heart of Liberia, is widely recognized as a cradle of some of the nation’s brightest minds, most innovative entrepreneurs, and courageous leaders. The county has consistently produced individuals who have excelled in education, governance, healthcare, business, and various professional fields nationwide. Yet, ironically, the communities within B**g County itself have consistently lagged behind in key indicators of socio-economic development. This stark disparity between human potential and tangible progress calls for a thorough analysis of the root causes and the urgent need for transformative change.

Factors Contributing to Underdevelopment in B**g County

1. Weak and Ineffective Governance
One of the critical barriers to development in B**g County is weak governance characterized by complacency, lack of vision, limited accountability, and the prioritization of personal and political interests over the common good. Leadership at local and county levels has often failed to provide strategic direction, to implement policies that stimulate infrastructure growth, healthcare access, and educational advancement, or to effectively manage limited resources allocated to the county.

2. Politicization of Development Efforts
The political environment in B**g County has become so polarized and fraught with “deathly politics” that genuine developmental initiatives are eclipsed by attempts to gain or maintain power. Development projects are often linked to political patronage, with resources being distributed based on political loyalty rather than need or merit. This politicization breeds mistrust among citizens and hinders collaborative efforts essential for county-wide progress.

3. Resistance to Youth-Led Innovation and Ideas
Despite the wealth of knowledge and innovative ideas from the county’s young population, who are often the most energized and forward-thinking segment, these youths frequently encounter resistance from established authorities and traditional power holders. Instead of being embraced as partners and drivers of growth, young leaders and innovators in B**g County are sometimes marginalized, undermined, or actively opposed, thereby stifling the creative energy necessary for community rebuilding in unity and togetherness.

4. Infrastructural Deficits and Poor Service Delivery
Physical infrastructure including roads, healthcare facilities, schools, and markets remains underdeveloped, making it difficult to spur economic growth or improve quality of life. Bad roads restrict market access for farmers and traders, health facilities lack adequate equipment and staff, and educational institutions are often overcrowded or ill-equipped, limiting opportunities for human capital development—ironically, in a county with such intellectual wealth.

5. Inefficient Business Systems and Economic Stagnation
Poor or lacking business frameworks and support services have hampered entrepreneurial activities, job creation, and investment inflows into B**g County. Many local businesses struggle due to inadequate access to credit, lack of training, poor market linkages, and unstable regulatory environments—all of which weaken the county’s economy and exacerbate poverty.

Why the Disconnect Between Talent and Development?

The mismatch arises primarily because talent and human potential alone cannot automatically translate to development in the absence of enabling structures and good governance. The brightest minds need supportive environments to thrive—environments characterized by transparency, effective resource management, infrastructural investment, and participatory governance. Without these conditions, even the most brilliant individuals may find their impact constrained, and communities continue to suffer from systemic underdevelopment.

The Urgency to Replace Old Leadership

To break this cycle of stagnation in B**g County, there must be a decisive departure from the leadership paradigms that have proven ineffective. The call to “get old leadership from power” reflects a widespread desire for renewal and reform—leaders who will prioritize:

Transparency and Accountability: Managing public resources openly and responsively.
Inclusivity: Actively engaging youth, women, and marginalized groups as partners in development.
Visionary Planning: Crafting and implementing comprehensive development blueprints tailored to B**g’s unique context.
Capacity Building: Strengthening institutions for effective service delivery and infrastructure maintenance.
Depoliticizing Development: Ensuring that development initiatives serve the community’s interests rather than political agendas.

Moving Beyond Deathly Politics to Unity and Progress

The “deathly politics” that pervade B**g County create divisions that stunt development and breed despair. Overcoming this requires all stakeholders—traditional leaders, politicians, civil servants, youth representatives, and civil society—to commit to dialogue, reconciliation, and constructive collaboration. Political competition need not be destructive; it can instead be channeled into healthy democratic processes that elevate good governance and development outcomes.

The Path Forward

B**g County’s potential is boundless, but unlocking it demands courageous leadership, empowered communities, and a shared commitment to progress beyond politics. The brilliant sons and daughters of the county, particularly the youth brimming with ideas and energy, must be central to this transformation. Together, with new leadership attuned to the aspirations and needs of its people, B**g County can transform from a symbol of untapped potential into a beacon of development, peace, and prosperity for all its residents.

TEAM BESTMAN stands firm in its commitment to supporting the agricultural community of Salala District. On the 15th of January, the team will distribute fertilizer to local farm owners as a vital step towards rebuilding and revitalizing the agricultural sector. This initiative comes as a direct response to the concerns raised by farmers who have been struggling with the declining health of their pepper crops and other essential produce due to a lack of access to fertilizer. By addressing their urgent needs, TEAM BESTMAN aims to reignite hope and productivity within Salala’s farming community.

Agriculture remains the cornerstone of B**g County’s economy, and by extension, the backbone of Liberia’s food security and economic growth. Unfortunately, without proper support, farmers face diminished yields and increasing hardship. The fertilizer distribution initiative is designed to empower these farmers, enabling them to improve soil fertility, enhance crop yields, and secure their livelihoods. This agricultural development strategy reflects TEAM BESTMAN’s broader vision of fostering a robust and self-sustaining farming community that can contribute significantly to the district’s and county’s overall development.

The lack of fertilizer has been a critical barrier to agricultural success in Salala District. Many farmers have reached out to TEAM BESTMAN, expressing their frustration as their pepper and other vital crops fail at a time when local and national food demand is rising. Recognizing these challenges, the team has prioritized the provision of fertilizer as an immediate intervention to address soil nutrient deficiencies and boost crop growth. By facilitating access to these essential inputs, TEAM BESTMAN hopes to reverse the decline in agricultural productivity and support the farmers in their tireless efforts.

Moreover, this initiative is not just about distributing fertilizer but about planting the seeds for an agricultural revolution in B**g County and beyond. TEAM BESTMAN envisions a modernized and sustainable agricultural system where farmers are equipped with the necessary resources, knowledge, and support to thrive. Through continuous engagement and collaboration with the farming community, local authorities, and development partners, the team plans to introduce innovative farming techniques and sustainable practices that can increase resilience against climate challenges and market fluctuations.

The distribution scheduled for the 15th of January also marks a reaffirmation of TEAM BESTMAN’s dedication to inclusive development. Smallholder farmers, who form the majority in Salala District, often face marginalization and limited access to essential farming inputs. By consciously ensuring that fertilizer reaches these farmers, the team strives to promote social equity and improve rural livelihoods. It is a step towards reducing poverty and creating an environment where agriculture can flourish as a viable and profitable occupation for all.

Additionally, TEAM BESTMAN understands that agricultural development is integral to Liberia’s broader economic transformation. Strengthening the agricultural sector will not only enhance food production but also create job opportunities, stimulate local markets, and contribute to national GDP growth. The fertilizer distribution campaign signifies a practical investment in the future of Liberia’s agriculture, one that places farmers at the heart of development efforts and drives long-term prosperity.

In the coming months, TEAM BESTMAN will continue to monitor the impact of the fertilizer distribution and seek feedback from the farmers to refine and expand support programs. Continuous capacity-building efforts, including training on best farming practices and sustainable soil management, will accompany material assistance. This holistic approach underlines the team’s commitment to ensuring that the agricultural revolution in Salala and B**g County is sustainable, inclusive, and transformative.

In conclusion, the fertilizer distribution initiative on January 15th symbolizes more than just an agricultural input handout—it represents hope, resilience, and a shared vision for a prosperous future in Salala District and Liberia as a whole. TEAM BESTMAN firmly believes in the power of agriculture to uplift communities, foster economic development, and build a stronger nation. By coming together with the farming community, the team is laying a foundation upon which the agricultural revolution of B**g County will flourish, ensuring food security and sustainable development for generations to come.

Members of the House of Representatives, during the 16th Day Sitting of the 3rd Quarter of the 2nd Session, have voted to add fourteen (14) additional seats to the House of Representatives.

The decision follows the submission of a detailed report from the Joint Committee on Elections and Inauguration, Judiciary, and Good Governance & Government Reform, outlining a constitutionally and politically guided framework for the reapportionment of Liberia’s constituencies ahead of the 2029 General and Presidential Elections.

According to the Joint Committee’s recommendations, the 14 new seats will be allocated as follows:
• Montserrado County – 4 seats
• Lofa County – 2 seats
• Nimba County – 2 seats
• B**g County – 2 seats
• Grand Bassa County – 1 seat
• Margibi County – 1 seat
• Grand Cape Mount County – 1 seat
• Grand Gedeh County – 1 seat
Following the reading of the report, Plenary was immediately engaged in vigorous debate.

During the deliberations, Hon. Foday Fahnbulleh proffered a motion to endorse the report and recommended that the Speaker constitute a specialized committee to collaborate with the National Elections Commission (NEC) and the Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) to ensure that the reapportionment process is properly guided and implemented.

The move to expand the number of seats is intended to ensure fair representation across counties in accordance with population dynamics and constitutional requirements.

What does Sweden’s Shutdown mean for Liberia in dollars and cents?

Sweden’s Sudden Shutdown is a Big Sore (A Loss of over US$149 million) – A Call for President Boakai to Shift Gear from Aid Dependency to Self-Sufficiency

The attached table simplifies everything.

I) Introduction:

All of a sudden, Sweden is exiting. Make no mistake, it’s not only their embassy. They are also leaving with over US$149 million. President Boakai should be concerned/worried because thousands of Liberian families are about to lose their jobs and incomes (direct and indirect), adding on to the thousands that are now jobless as a result of the USAID shutdown.

II) Method:

Data used in this brief analysis were captured from 32 ongoing projects as reflected on the Website of the Embassy of Sweden near Monrovia. Can be accessed here: https://www.swedenabroad.se/en/embassies/liberia-monrovia/about-us/swedens-development-cooperation/. A total of 39 projects, but 7 expired before and in 2024. We only considered ongoing projects in 2025 and projects running up to 2028.

Current Conversion: We converted Swedish Krona to United States (kr1 SEK = 0.1063 USD). The output is reflected in the attached table.

III) The Economic Impact (The Projects):

The Swedish Government is funding over 30 projects across Liberia valued at over US$149 million. This is 12.4% of Liberia’s entire 1.2 billion budget. This is a big leakage to Liberia’s economy. It’s going to affect dozens of organizations and thousands of families. This sudden shutdown is going to heighten unemployment, negatively impact consumption, lead to job, HH income and tax losses, increase poverty, etc.

Recommendation:

Most countries are no longer giving out handouts (aid). The government needs to stop waiting for aid from MCC, IMF, World Bank, etc. Shift from aid dependency to self-sufficiency. Cut down on public waste. Cap all salaries and benefits across GOL’s spending entities, including The Legislature, at US$5,000 per month. Mr. President, tthoroughly review and renegotiate ALL concession agreements, shift towards profit sharing, compel all companies to pay for long-term compliance breaches/violations, review 'unjustified' tax holidays and credits which is allowing us to lose over US$300 million every year, amend the revenue code, and impartially enforce all MDAs, EITI regulations, and MM and Natural Resource Laws to ensure full compliance and public interest.
These are tough times, Mr. President. Therefore, tough decisions must be taken.
