We are introducing the contributors to A Machine as Complex as the World Itself. Meet Ellen Viste! 🌦️
Ellen Viste is a meteorologist, now working with climate science communication. She combines meteorology with interdisciplinary environmental research to understand changing weather systems and water resources. She lives in Bergen, a city known for its rain and as the cradle of modern weather forecasting. She explores how climate knowledge can be shared across disciplinary and public contexts. She has written the books Tales of the Wind and Temperature.
Viste joins A Machine as Complex as the World Itself, 11–12 September at Korskirken in Bergen.
Convened by Lucia Pietroiusti and Filipa Ramos, the two-day programme brings together artists, musicians, scientists, writers and storytellers to explore technology, meteorology and ecstasy — marking the beginning of an open research process towards Bergen Assembly 2028.
