Not only can you lend books here in the library, you can also borrow our noise-cancelling headphones! If you want to focus during a test or lesson, if you just want some peace and quiet during your break, or if people are annoying you: look no further! It’s free of charge, so come check it out in the library!🤑

Also, if you want to have your music sheets, homework or other papers bound in a very handy booklet, come to us! For no more than €0.40 cents, we will show you how to turn your messy stack of paper into a little masterpiece📄

Je kunt hier niet alleen boeken lenen, maar ook onze geluid onderdrukkende koptelefoons! Als je je wilt concentreren tijdens een toets of les, als je gewoon wat rust wilt tijdens je pauze, of als mensen je irriteren: zoek niet verder! Het is gratis, dus kom ze uitproberen in de bibliotheek!🤑

Ook als je je muziekbladen, huiswerk of andere papieren wilt laten inbinden in een handig boekje, kom dan naar ons! Voor niet meer dan €0,40 cent laten we je zien hoe je van je rommelige stapel papier een klein meesterwerkje maakt📄

The Real Christmas Book🎅🎄

Not only is it almost Christmas, it’s also our first official book highlight! To showcase you the large variety and abundance of books and products we have at the library, we want to inform you weekly with book highlights such as these📚

Since it’s almost Christmas, we want to highlight the Real Christmas Book. Filled with jazzy Christmas songs, such as Jingle Bells, Santa Clause is Coming to Town and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, this book is ideal for the winter weeks. A little late to borrow now since the school is closed, but keep it in mind for next year!🦌🎄🎅

Het is niet alleen bijna Kerstmis, het is ook onze eerste officiële Book Higlight! Om jullie de grote verscheidenheid en overvloed aan boeken en producten die we in de bibliotheek hebben te laten zien, willen we jullie wekelijks informeren met Book Highlights zoals deze📚

Omdat het bijna Kerstmis is, willen we deze week de Real Christmas Book uitlichten. We already want to wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! The library will be closed from Saturday the 21st of december until Sunday the 5th of January. After that we will be very happy to receive you again on Monday the 6th!📚

Maak kennis met het team: Wessel!🎶🎺

Hallo, mijn naam is Wessel en ik ben student-assistent in de bibliotheek. Ik zit momenteel in mijn derde jaar jazz&pop, met als hoofdvak trombone. Ik vind het ook leuk andere instrumenten te leren bespelen (trompet, saxofoon, klarinet, tuba, f***t etc), maar de trombone blijft natuurlijk altijd het beste. Ik ben ook een grote fan van Nintendo-games, origami en zwemmen👾🤿

Hopelijk kun je een keer langskomen in onze mooie muziekbibliotheek!

Hello, my name is Wessel and I am a student-assistent at the library. I am currently in my third year of jazz&pop, with my main subject being the trombone. I also like to learn to play other instruments as well (trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, tuba, bassoon etc), but the trombone will always be the best of course. Maak kennis met het team: Joëlle👍🏼😎

Hallo! Ik ben Joëlle en sinds april '22 verzorg ik de jazz & popcollectie in de bibliotheek. 🎶

Als afgestudeerde ArtEZ jazz & pop vocals (klas van 2019), ben ik een van de vele oud-studenten die hier werkt. Als ik geen boeken en bladmuziek aan het verzamelen ben, werk ik aan muziekprojecten, treed ik op, dirigeer ik een koor, geef ik les of schrijf ik liedjes. 🎤🎹

Ik ben een boekenwurm in hart en nieren. Ik duik altijd in een stapel boeken (of webseries zoals The Wandering Inn) en lees alles wat mijn interesse wekt en vasthoudt. Als ik niet ondergedompeld ben in muziek of boeken, vind je me met vrienden, terwijl ik (bord)spellen speel zoals exploderende kittens, ronddwaal in het bos/park, motor rijd of verdwaal in open-wereld RPG's en overlevingsspellen. 🏍️🎮

Heb je vragen, aanbevelingen voor jazz & popboeken of bladmuziek? Kom langs en zeg hallo! Ik ben meestal op maandag, donderdag en/of vrijdag in de bibliotheek en ik help je graag om de informatie te vinden die je nodig hebt, om gewoon een praatje te maken of om je te helpen iets nieuws te vinden.

Hey there! I’m Joëlle, and I’ve been taking care of the jazz & pop collection at the library since April ‘22. 🎶

As an ArtEZ graduate in jazz & pop vocals (class of 2019), I’m one of many former students on staff here. When I’m not curating books and sheet music, you’ll find me working on music projects, performing, conducting a choir, teaching, or writing songs. 🎤🎹

I’m a bookworm at heart—always diving into a stack of books (or web serials like The Wandering Inn), reading whatever sparks and keeps my interest. When I’m not immersed in music or books, you’ll find me with friends, playing (board) games like exploding kittens, wandering around in the woods/parks, riding my motorcycle, or getting lost in open-world RPGs and survival games. 🏍️🎮

Got any questions, jazz & pop book or sheet music recommendations? Come by and say hi! I’m usually at the library on Mondays, Thursdays, and/or Fridays, and I’d love to help you find the information your need, to just talk, or to help you find something new.

Maak kennis met het team: Jantien📚🔥

Hallo, ik ben Jantien. Ik werk in de bibliotheek als informatiespecialist. Ik verzorg de collectie voor klassieke muziek en muziekeducatie en Joëlle en ik geven workshops aan studenten over het vinden van informatie binnen en buiten de bibliotheek.📚👀

Een grappige anekdote: toen ik 18 was deed ik auditie op het conservatorium om klassiek piano te studeren, maar ik werd afgewezen. Ik vond het toen natuurlijk niet grappig 😉 De schooldecaan raadde me aan om in plaats daarvan bibliothecaris te worden, en met een lange omweg kwam ik toch weer op het conservatorium terecht!🎹🎶

Naast mijn werk op het conservatorium geef ik ook een parttime cursus bibliothecaris. In mijn vrije tijd maak ik graag mijn eigen zeepjes, haar- en huidverzorgingsproducten. Ik ben dol op borduren en leer momenteel vilten zodat ik mijn eigen wandkleed kan maken. En in de lente en zomer ben ik druk aan het tuinieren op mijn kavel in een buurttuin.🍀🌹💐

Meet the team: Jantien📚🔥

Hi! I’m Jantien. I work in the library as an information specialist. I take care of the collection for classical music and music education, and Joëlle and I give workshops to students about how to find information inside and outside of the library.📚👀

A funny anekdote: when I was 18 I auditioned at the conservatory to study classical piano, but I got turned down. I didn’t think it was funny back then of course 😉 The school dean adviced me to become a librarian instead, and with a long detour I came back to the conservatory after all!🎹🎶

Next to my work at the conservatory I also teach a parttime course in librarianship. In my spare time I like making my own soaps, hair- and skincare products. I I love embroidery and am currently learning how to felt so I can make my own tapestry. And in spring and summer I’m busy gardening on my lot in a community garden.🍀🌹💐
