Today, May 1, is International Workers' Day! It commemorates the sentencing to death of seven anarchist workers in Chicago who were wrongly convicted for throwing a bomb at police who attacked a strike demonstration in May 1886.
80,000 workers in Chicago had walked out on May 1 demanding a maximum 8 hour working day, alongside over 200,000 other workers across the US. Employers and the government were determined to crush the movement, and four of the anarchists were executed, with the fifth cheating the hangman by killing himself. An eighth was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment. The surviving three were later pardoned, and the fight for the 8 hour day continued.
Before his ex*****on, defendant August Spies told the court: "if you think that by hanging us you can stamp out the labour movement – the movement from which the downtrodden millions, the millions who toil and live in want and misery, the wage slaves, expect salvation – if this is your opinion, then hang us! Here you will tread upon a spark, but here, and there, and behind you, and in front of you, and everywhere, flames will blaze up. It is a subterranean fire. You cannot put it out."
Socialist and workers' organisations later chose May 1 to be celebrated as International Workers' Day, and today it is celebrated as a national holiday in many countries around the world, and an unofficial one in many others.

On this day 30/4 1945 as the Red flag flew over the Reichstag, Hi**er with his mistress took their lives with Soviet troops only 500 meters away. The N**i monstrocity was crushed.

Also, on this day in 1975 the communist Vietcong liberated Saigon ,soon after renamed Ho Chi Minh, ending the imperialist war in Vietnam. American diplomats escaped in haste with helicopters from the roof of their embassy. The photo below shows the tank smashing through the gates of Presidential Mansion.

On the weekend of April 17-18, immigrants from Greece, we joined our voices in over 20 cities around the world. With a common call we protested against any form of state authoritarianism and the criminal management of the pandemic.

We declare present in future struggles in Greece and everywhere. The fight against repression and policing will be relentless.

We will resist state violence with international solidarity.

We need your help!

Our friends from the squat at Reactorweg are going to be evicted!
They are being pushed out so a student group can have a party week at this location.
The municipality of Utrecht should put a stop to this! These people will be made homeless so some students can have a party!

Help us, and our friends, by sending a message to the municipaly of Utrecht. This way they can be pressured to stop making people homeless!

Please send messages to Gemeente Utrecht via this form! This way we might stop the eviction!
