Smart Parks is using innovative techniques for the protection of endangered species, humans, and the environment.

With LoRa® telecommunication technology we protect large park areas with numerous sensor applications to track wildlife, vehicles and tourists, and detect intruders. It also enables parks to monitor infrastructure such as roads, gates, fences and watertanks. The data produced by the sensors are presented in an easy-to-use web application in the Park’s Control Room. This allows Park staff and range

Extremely sad and worrying news from Namibia this morning:

"The number of endangered rhinos poached in Namibia last year was the highest on record and almost twice as many as the year before, officials say"

Rhino numbers in Africa have dropped significantly in recent decades to feed the demand for rhino horn in China and Vietnam. Rhino horn is used in traditional Chinese medicine (no proven medical benefit) and horns are displayed as a sign for wealth (?!!).

The last years we've worked, and still work hard, at Smart Parks with all our partners to develop, test and produce the RhinoEdge sensors as a tool to support the protection of these extremely threatened species.

It is a special day as four European bison haven been released into ancient woodland in Kent early this morning☀️This is the first time in the UK and a milestone for the project and its rewilding efforts. The bison are expected to transform the ecosystem like no other animal can!
