COMMENCEMENT OF AUTOMATED PASSPORT APPLICATION PROCESS

In the quest of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to attain eventual automation of its passport application process with effect from 8th March 2024, prospective passport applicants are hereby informed to note the following:
i. Every applicant is expected to provide National Identification Number (NIN) on the payment portal before commencing the payment process.
ii. Applicants are expected to personally upload passport photographs during the payment process. They should please note that the photograph must meet ICAO specification as listed on the payment portal.
iii. Applicants are expected to upload required supporting documents, namely: Birth certificate/Declaration of Age, Certificate of State of Origin/Local Government Identification, etc.
Passport applicants are to also note that once the payment process is completed/successful, they would be required to proceed to the Embassy for biometrics capture on the selected appointment date.
