New Nigerian Import Regulations 2026: Major Opportunities & Strict Conditions for Car Traders! 👇

The Nigeria Customs Service has significantly changed the rules for vehicle imports. Planning to ship a car, SUV, or transport vehicle from Europe to Lagos in 2026? Here is what you need to know:

✅ The total effective import duty on passenger cars has been nearly halved (from 70% down to 40%).
✅ Import duties on Electric Vehicles (EVs) have been slashed to 0%.
❌ Take note: A new 'Green Tax' applies to larger engines, and the 12-year age limit (maximum manufacturing year 2014) is being enforced more strictly than ever.

Avoid unexpected fees, penalties, or delays at the port of Lagos. SCL Rotterdam takes care of everything, from the quay to customs clearance.
