🚀 What if space technology could transform industries on Earth?

✨ Join the CEMSxESA Block Seminar “Turning Technology into Business”, taking place from 31 August to 5 September 2026, and organised by the European Space Agency (ESA), the Port of Rotterdam, and Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM).

📈 Delivered as part of the CEMS Master in International Management, this one-week intensive experience challenges multidisciplinary teams to tackle real-world problems and develop business ideas, progressing from concept to pitch in just five days, guided by experts and innovation methodologies. 👩‍💻

🛰️ This is a great opportunity for engineering students to explore how space technologies can create value on Earth, from the space sector to the Port of Rotterdam.🚢

🎓 Selected students receive an ESA Academy scholarship, covering registration fees and contributing to travel and accommodation costs.

Participants will explore the full design process of an Earth observation mission, from mission objectives and orbit selection to payloads, satellite architecture, operations, and testing. 🛰️

🚀 25,707 students. One mission: code in space. 🎉

This year, 25,707 students across Europe and Canada had their code run on the International Space Station 👩‍💻🛰️

🌍 This week, teams reached the final step of their journey, receiving their certificates and experiment data. Each certificate captures a unique moment in space, showing the exact time and location of the ISS when their code was executed. ✨

👏 Congratulations to all the students! And a big thank you to the teachers and educators who make space part of everyday learning and inspire the next generation. 💫

How can we monitor solar activity on the far side of the Sun? ☀️

🎓 Last week, 30 university students from across Europe tackled this challenge during the Concurrent Engineering Workshop 2026, where they designed an innovative mission concept called Antichthon.

🛰️ The proposed mission would provide near real-time observations of solar regions currently hidden from Earth, helping improve space weather forecasting and our ability to predict solar events that can impact satellites, communications, navigation systems, and power grids on Earth.

💫 Over four intensive days, the students applied ESA’s concurrent engineering approach to define the mission architecture, including the spacecraft design, trajectory, communications, power and thermal subsystems, propulsion concept, and operational strategy for a spacecraft positioned near the Sun–Earth L3 region.

Congratulations to all the students who took part in this inspiring and ambitious challenge, your creativity, teamwork, and engineering skills made this a truly stellar experience! 🌞
