Boomkwekerij Fleuren is een begrip in de
vruchtbomen- en fruitsector. Het bedrijft bestaat sinds 1922, grondlegger was Henri Fleuren welke vijftig jaar later werd opgevolgd door zoon Karel Fleuren. Deze bouwde het bedrijf verder uit en was de grote inspirator op het gebied van boomvormen, zowel de knipboom alsmede ook de generatieve 3KS-boom komen van zijn hand. In 2003 werd het bedrijf overgenom

en door de 3e generatie, Han Fleuren. Vandaag de dag zijn we gespecialiseerd in de teelt van appel-, peren-, kersen- en pruimenbomen op een oppervlakte van ruim 100 ha. Elk jaar groeien er circa 2,5 miljoen vruchtbomen in onze kwekerij. Wij hebben de visie bomen te maken waar onze klanten geld mee kunnen verdienen.

The Wurtwinning apple variety is currently being planted at our nursery. In two years, these trees will produce delicious Bloss apples for fruit growers.

Fortunately, the weather conditions are perfect. ☀️

Het appelras Wurtwinning wordt momenteel aangeplant in onze kwekerij. Over twee jaar zullen deze bomen heerlijke Bloss-appels opleveren voor de fruittelers.

Gelukkig zijn de weersomstandigheden perfect. ☀️

Fleuren Tree Nursery is trialling a new tree training method in cherry cultivation.

Cherry trees naturally exhibit vigorous growth. Planting trees at a 45° angle already partially curbs this growth. In the next step, the unproductive central section of the tree is selectively removed. The active crown is then reattached to the lower part of the trunk. This technique, previously known as ‘Greffe de avril’, originated in France.

Using this method, we are now introducing the new and innovative RGA system (ReGraft Alignment System). This system addresses one of the greatest challenges in modern cherry cultivation: the formation of dead wood in the central part of the tree.

By removing the unproductive section of the trunk and re-grafting the crown, a reconnected tree with continuous productive wood is created. Combined with existing cultivation strategies, such as the 45° planting angle and a limited planting distance within the row, this leads to a renewed growth concept.

The RGA system enables rejuvenation without replanting, limits the formation of dead wood and contributes to balanced growth and productivity of the tree. Fleuren Nursery sees this as the next step in the development of sustainable and efficient cherry cultivation.

In February, Henk van den Eertwegh celebrated his 40th anniversary at Boomkwekerij Fleuren. He joined the company with a background in construction, but quickly developed into a man of tractors and agricultural machinery. His creativity and interest in innovation are in his DNA. Until recently, he was also responsible for our crop protection. Nowadays, he scours the internet for innovations in the field of nursery cultivation. His dream of developing a fully automatic stake setting and pulling machine is one of the few things we have not yet been able to realise. Henk, thank you very much for your dedication!

Henk van den Eertwegh mocht in februari zijn 40 jarig dienstjubileum bij Boomkwekerij Fleuren vieren. Hij kwam destijds met een achtergrond in de bouw, maar ontwikkelde zich al snel tot een man van traktoren en landbouwmachines. Zijn creativiteit en interesse voor innovaties zit in zijn DNA. Hij was tot voor kort ook verantwoordelijk voor onze gewasbescherming. Tegenwoordig speurt hij het internet af naar nieuwigheden op kwekerij-gebied. Zijn droom om een vol automatische stokken zet en trek machine te ontwikkelen, is een van de weinige zaken die we nog niet hebben kunnen realiseren. Henk, heel veel dank voor je inzet!
