There are 795 million undernourished people in the world in 2016 with India leading the way. Solving hunger is one best buy for the tough political and economic world we live in. World produces enough food for 7 billion people and yet 1/8 of the world goes hungry each night (WFP, 2016). There are multiple reasons for hunger and top six include
1. Lack of investment in agriculture
3. Climate and we

4. War and displacement
5. Unstable markets
6. Food Wastage
We would focus on the Food Wastage as the means to tackle hunger problem with goal of “Free Hunger”. 1/3rd of the food produced for human consumption are either lost or wasted across the globe and this amounts to close to 1.3 million tons per year (FAO, 2016). Indians waste food as much as what UK consumes (The CSR Journal, 2016) which talks a lot especially knowing that India has the highest number of undernourished people touching 194.6 million in 2016 ranks 55 in the Global Hunger Index out of 76 under developed and developing nations (FAO, 2016). There are many stages the wastage or loss happens through-out the supply chain from the initial agricultural production to final consumption. In this supply chain I would initially focus on the final stage of the supply chain where the food is processed to be ready to be eaten but is forced to thrown since the needy is not accessible or found at the right time or not possible to transport to the needy.
