“My name is Janet, I am 17 years old and training to become a motor vehicle mechanic at Levozy Vocational Training Centre in Dagoretti, Nairobi – Kenya.”

Dagoretti is one of the largest informal settlements in Nairobi, where many families face daily challenges such as poverty, unemployment, overcrowding, and limited access to education and opportunities. For many young people, vocational training is one of the few pathways to a better future.

Janet is receiving her lessons and practical mechanic training at LEVOZY SELF HELP GROUP, where young people are equipped with practical skills to help them build an independent future.

Thanks to the support of Tools4Change Janet received a motor vehicle mechanic toolbox to support her studies and practical training. Every day she uses the tools during her classes and hands-on training, helping her gain confidence and valuable technical skills. 🔧

“The tools have really helped me in my training. I am learning a lot and improving my mechanic skills every day,” Janet says.

Her dream is to complete her studies, find employment, and use her skills to support herself and give back to her community. ❤️

Stories like Janet’s show how access to the right tools and education can open doors to employment, independence, and hope for young people living in difficult circumstances.

It is always wonderful to receive positive feedback from our partners. Seeing how the tools and machines are being used gives us so much motivation!

We received the following report from PFZ in Zambia:
PF Zambia is very happy with both the quality and quantity of the donated materials. The construction teams are especially pleased with the carpentry and masonry tools, while the electric equipment, such as drills and sanders, is also working extremely well.

Our irons, embroidery machines, and electric sewing machines are all being used successfully. The computers and routers from BWW, carefully refurbished in Culemborg, have been given a valuable second life and are now used by trainees for administration and internet access.

The refurbished bicycles are also making a real difference. Some are even adapted locally for people with disabilities, improving their mobility and helping them participate more actively in society.

Behind every shipment lies a world of collecting, repairing, refurbishing, sorting, and packing. Every day, our dedicated staff and volunteers work hard to prepare used—but still perfectly usable—tools, computers, and machines for a second life.
Thanks to their efforts—and the generous support of our donors—our warehouses are filled with valuable materials, ready to be shipped.
Because good tools and equipment deserve a second chance—just like the young people who will be using them. 💪🌍

Great news! 🎉 A container filled to the brim has started its journey to Ndola, Zambia.

In our workshop, we have been working hard to carefully prepare all tools, machines, and materials for transport. This shipment is destined for five organisations: Prison Fellowship Zambia(PFZ), community support project-ALEJO CSP, CIDC,Cheshire Homes Society, and the Holy Family Rehabilitation Center (HFRC).

Thanks to this container, these organisations will be able to train more people, increase self-reliance, and create greater economic opportunities. In this way, Betuwe Wereldwijd supports young people and adults in Zambia in taking their future into their own hands.
