Alright everyone, Monday is the kickoff for two weeks of Fairies and Star Wars, a crossover for the whole family. We'll have two separate scavenger hunts, one for each week, as well as fairy crown and lightsaber crafting, fairy wing decorating, and of course a selfie station. Mix and match themes however you please!

As for the month ahead, May is a busy one for holidays here. We've already had Labor Day, which is then followed by Liberation Day on the 5th, Ascension Day on the 14th, and Whit Monday on the 25th. That said, there won't be another official holiday until August, and after that nothing until Christmas.

Since the holidays head off our usual Saturday schedule, we will be open on the 2nd Saturday, May 9th. We hope to see you then!

In the mean time, hopefully everyone is enjoying the warm weather and sunshine as we move through the height of Spring and press onward toward Summer!

Spring is here! And Easter is near. There's a few more days left for crafting your own pom-pom bunnies or decorating your eggs for the Easter Tree. April is a lively month for holidays so please take note of the closures this month!

We appreciate everyone who came out to our Lego Master Builder's Challenge back on March 15th. We had some excellent and creative builds this year, including a dragon powered house, a neighborhood powered by play, and even an experiment in pterodactyl power! For those of you who missed out this year, keep your eyes out as we'll be doing it all over again next year with new themes and new ideas!

Easter has arrived at the library! With Spring officially here, and the flowers and trees starting to bloom, the time has come for Bunnies, Easter Eggs, and More!

This week and next week, be sure to stop by the library to craft your own Easter pom-pom companions. You can make a simple chickadee or little bunny, or if you're more ambitious you can attempt to craft your own themed bunny like our Fairy and Star Wars bunnies.

We also have egg decorating, and of course a scavenger hunt with some Easter treasure awaiting those who take on the challenge.

Don't forget! This week and next, you'll be able to sign up for our Lego Master Builder's Challenge! You can sign up a team of your choice--family, friends, or even rivals--and enter the challenge set for Sunday, March 15th. Next week we will be providing mini challenges for all to have fun and test their creative skills.

We hope to see you at the challenge! And while you're at the library, be sure to check out our Lego display with classic sets, even including the original wooden Lego toys.

Hello Everyone! March is here, and Spring is right around the corner. That of course means it is time for bunnies, eggs, and--Legos. That's right, Legos!

Every March we host our very own Lego Master Builder's Challenge here at the library. This year, the challenge will be on Sunday, March 15th. The way the challenge works is you'll sign up your team at the library to participate in one--or even all--of our challenge sessions starting at 1300. Each session will run for 45 minutes.

At the start, you'll be given a challenge, and each team will compete to see who the victor is. The challenge will test your speed, your teamwork, and your creativity. For those who are victorious at the end, there will be a prize. So! Make sure to come by the library to register!

You might notice "Lego Challenge Week." That week, leading up to the event itself, we will have our freestyle Legos out all week along with challenge cards for you to practice with.

That's not all this month though: we will also have Easter activities at the end of the month, featuring more home-made pom pom creations. This time, you can make lovely chickadees and bunnies. We'll also have egg decorating and, as always, a scavenger hunt. So! Be sure to come during that week to enjoy the fun!

Do note that because of the Lego Master Builder Challenge on March 15th, we will not be open on Saturday March 21st.

Also, our Thursday Storytime is paused until further notice. We hope to have more for you soon! In the mean time, if there are other days or times you'd like to see activities for our youngest patrons, don't hesitate to let us know!

Sadly, our Storytimes for this week will be cancelled. The Monday storytime on the 23rd and the Thursday storytime on the 26th are both cancelled this week. We apologize for the trouble!

As a bit of good news, we'll have information out soon about our Lego Master Builder Challenge and Easter Crafts! So keep an eye out for that, and we hope to see you all at the library!

It begins tomorrow! Yes, this Saturday, February 7th, be sure to come down to the library for the best Valentine's fun this side of Limburg. Make your own lovable love bug with our specialized pom-pom maker. Select your yarn and then go to town creating and decorating your own fluffy friend.

That's not all we have though. For the painterly among you, we have paintable ceramic hearts which make for a lovely gift, as well as classic crafts and card making. If you want to make a Valentine for that someone special in your life--friend, family, or more--there's no better place than the library!

If you can't come buy on Saturday then fear not. We'll be providing Valentine's crafts all next week, up through Friday the 13th. We hope to see you all at the library!

Alright everyone, February is right around the corner! And this year it's a lively February as both Valetine's and Carnaval fall in the same month.

Starting Saturday February 7th, we'll be crafting lovable little love bugs with home-made pom-poms! That's right, we're not doing store-bought here. You get to choose your own yarn and build your very own pom-pom to decorate as you please. That's not all though: we'll also have paintable ceramic hearts and of course plenty of materials for crafting your own Valentine's cards.

We will be closed Monday the 16th for Carnaval (here's hoping for some good weather and good fun!), but otherwise we'll be here throughout the month to help you with whatever library needs you may have. So be sure to come down, read a book, build some lego, make a love bug, and have an all-around good time at the best community hangout spot on JFC.

Hello Everyone! MWA is out with a quick community survey and we'd love for everyone to provide feedback about the library and other MWA services. It takes a couple minutes, but each response we get is invaluable. Why? Because with each answer we have a better grasp on what's going well, on what we could do better, and on where we can possibly expand our services to better meet your needs.

Want us to add more French books, or add Italian books? Want us to add Makerspace services? Or maybe you'd prefer it if we were open Sundays instead of Saturdays?
