NYSC ADAMAWA HONOURS OUTSTANDING CORPS MEMBERS AS 2025 BATCH ‘B’ STREAM II BOWS OUT
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Adamawa State Secretariat, has celebrated and honoured outstanding members of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members for their exceptional contributions to national service, particularly in Community Development Service (CDS), leadership, innovation, discipline and selfless service.
The recognition formed part of the highlights of the Passing-Out Parade (POP), as the Corps Members formally completed their one-year national service in Adamawa State. The awards underscored the Scheme’s commitment to identifying, celebrating and inspiring young Nigerians who distinguish themselves through meaningful contributions to their host communities and the nation at large.
Among the distinguished Corps Members, three were nominated for the Adamawa State Honours Awards and State Coordinator’s Commendation Letters, while Atoo Nenge Gema (AD/25B/2228), who served at Tijjani Bolori College, Mubi South Local Government Area, emerged as the Overall Outstanding Corps Member for the service year.
The State Coordinator, Mrs. Osoroh Caroline Chinedu, also recognised and commended Corps Liaison Officers (CLOs), CDS Presidents and other deserving Corps Members whose dedication, leadership qualities and commitment contributed immensely to the smooth and successful ex*****on of the NYSC mandate throughout the service year. Among those specially recognised was Okawu Grace Ematum (AD/25B/1973) of the Yola Zone, whose exemplary leadership and dedication earned commendation.
Another remarkable highlight was the recognition of Abdulwaheed Bala (AD/25B/1402), who emerged second in the BATN Foundation Farmers for the Future (F4F) Cohort 7 Live Pitch. His achievement further showcased the ingenuity, entrepreneurial spirit and growing impact of Corps Members in agriculture, innovation and skills development beyond the traditional workplace.
Addressing the outgoing Corps Members, the State Coordinator urged them to carry the ideals of discipline, patriotism, integrity, resilience and selfless service beyond the NYSC uniform. She reminded them that while the completion of national service marked the end of one chapter, it also opened the door to a greater responsibility to contribute positively to the development of their communities and the nation.
She encouraged them to remain good ambassadors of the NYSC wherever life takes them, stressing that the true measure of their service would not only be in the certificates received, but in the positive footprints they leave behind.
The ceremony featured the presentation of Certificates of National Service to the outgoing Corps Members, marking the formal conclusion of their service year. However, Corps Members found to have violated the NYSC Bye-Laws were appropriately sanctioned, reinforcing the Scheme’s firm commitment to maintaining discipline while simultaneously rewarding excellence and outstanding contributions.
The celebration therefore ended on a memorable note, as the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members stepped out of national service not merely with certificates in their hands, but with the recognition, experiences and values that would inspire them to become more responsible citizens and worthy contributors to Nigeria’s development.
