PUBLIC OUTREACH
The ADGIS is the implementation agency for SFTAS Property Record DLI 11.3.
His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Governor Ahmadu Umar Fintiri has set up the SFTAS programme (States Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability) Steering Committee on Property Record to Collaborate with the World Bank. The committee is headed by the Hon. Commissioner of Finance and Budget, Dr. Ishaya John Dabari to oversee the preparation and implementation of the project in all the selected Wards in the state. This Property Record project is in line with State’s policy on strengthening transparency and accountability in all agencies of government.
Our visit is aimed at intimating our Royal Fathers on the objective of this project. The main reasons for this project are to ensure all property in all the selected wards are properly assessed and linked with the legal owners. To successfully achieve this project objectives, traditional leaders’ support is paramount/important, and that is why we embark on the visits to seek for a support and blessings of leaders. We also solicited to the leaders to help communicate our message to his district heads, ward heads and all stakeholders involved on the upcoming project. It is expected that town hall meeting will be conducted by the State Project Team in coming days.
The success of this project will provide government with accurate information about number of property and their legal ownership. The benefits of this project include effective provision of social services (health facilities, educational facilities), security and emergency services, resolving property/land dispute, improve economic status (through the issuance of legal documents such as R of Os, C of Os, title documents etc that could be used for collateral in banks), physical infrastructure (tackling of housing deficit, roads, water supply, drainages etc.).
A Courtesy Visit to His Royal Highness, The Lamido Fombina, Dr. Aliyu Barkindo Mustapha
