BAYELSA CP SUSTAINS SURPRISE DUTY TOUR OF POLICE DIVISIONS, FORMATIONS, TASKS PERSONNEL ON ALERTNESS, DISCIPLINE AND PROFESSIONALISM

The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Ajao Saka Adewale, psc, mnips, FCAI, today, 24th October, 2026, continued his unannounced duty tour of Police Divisional Headquarters and Formations across the State as part of sustained efforts to strengthen supervision, assess operational readiness and ensure strict adherence to extant police regulations.

The Formations visited during the exercise were Agbere, Kaiama, Sagbama, Aleibiri and Ekeremor divisional headquarters while Sagbama and Ekeremor Area Commands, as well as Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Base 22, were also visited.

During the surprise visits, the Commissioner of Police inspected station facilities, detention areas and duty posts, while assessing the alertness, discipline and general preparedness of personnel. He also interacted with officers and men, reminding them of their responsibility to remain vigilant, responsive and professional in the discharge of their duties.

CP Ajao charged the Divisional Police Officers and other supervisory officers to ensure effective supervision of personnel, maintain clean and functional police facilities and sustain a high level of operational readiness within their respective jurisdictions.

The CP further reiterated that arrests, detention and other police actions must at all times conform with the law and established procedures. He warned against unlawful detention, arbitrary arrest and all forms of unprofessional conduct capable of undermining public confidence in the Police.

He assured residents of the Command's resolve to strengthen oversight of its formations through regular and unannounced inspections, with a view to promoting accountability, improving service delivery and ensuring effective policing across Bayelsa State.

YENAGOA YOUTHS RALLY BEHIND POLICE ANTI-CULTISM DRIVE, HOLD PEACE WALK AGAINST CULTISM, YOUTH VIOLENCE

— CP Ajao commends youths for supporting security efforts.

In a strong demonstration of citizens’ support for the ongoing efforts of the Bayelsa State Police Command towards combating cultism, youth violence and other forms of criminality, Team Wulukpense, in collaboration with the Epie/Atissa Entertainment Forum, today, 24th October, 2026, organised the Yenagoa Local Government Peace Walk Against Cultism and Youth Violence.

The participants, bearing placards with messages promoting peace, non-violence and the rejection of cultism, trekked from Opolo to the Bayelsa State Police Command Headquarters, Yenagoa, where they expressed appreciation to the Command for its sustained security efforts and conveyed their determination to support the Police, in their own way, towards consolidating peace and security across Yenagoa and Bayelsa State.

Receiving the group at the Command Headquarters, the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Ajao Saka Adewale, psc, mnips, FCAI, warmly welcomed the participants and commended their deliberate decision to identify with the police in the fight against cultism, criminality and youth violence. He described the initiative as a commendable demonstration of civic responsibility and collective commitment to a safer society and encouraged the organisers to sustain the advocacy and continue to promote responsible citizenship and lawful conduct among young people.

CP Ajao wished the team success in their campaign and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to strengthening Police-community partnership, intelligence-led policing and constructive engagement with well-meaning groups in the collective effort to curb cultism, reduce youth violence and sustain the existing peace in Bayelsa State.

*BAYELSA CP STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP WITH FIDA, PLEDGES SWIFT RESPONSE TO ACTION AGAINST DIGITAL VIOLENCE, IN**ST*

The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Ajao Saka Adewale, psc, mnips, FCAI, on Wednesday, 21st October 2026, received members of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Bayelsa State Branch, led by its Chairperson, Dr. Boma Tonye Niebai, on a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters, Yenagoa.

During the visit, the FIDA Chairperson commended the Commissioner of Police for hitting the ground running since assuming office and acknowledged the existing collaboration between the Police and FIDA. She, however, sought an even stronger partnership towards combating crime and promoting a safer Bayelsa State, particularly in addressing emerging concerns such as digital violence and the disturbing incidence of in**st.

Dr. Niebai further advocated for prompt response and action on petitions requiring Police intervention. She appealed to the Commissioner of Police to sustain the already existing open-door policy that would further enhance engagement and cooperation between FIDA and the Command.

Responding, CP Ajao Saka Adewale expressed deep appreciation for the issues raised, noting that crime prevention remains central to his policing philosophy. He commended FIDA Bayelsa for its interventions in promoting justice and protecting vulnerable persons, while urging the Association to intensify advocacy and sensitisation programmes, particularly in remote and underserved communities where such interventions are equally needed.

The Commissioner of Police assured the delegation of the Command's unfettered access and sustained cooperation, stressing that prompt response to security calls and legitimate complaints remains non-negotiable. He reiterated that effective policing thrives on collaboration and assured FIDA of the Command's readiness to continually synergise with the Association and other critical stakeholders towards protecting vulnerable persons, preventing crime and fostering a safer and more secure Bayelsa State.

The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Ajao Saka Adewale, psc, mnips, FCAI, today, 20th October, 2026, received members of the Bayelsa Indigenous Tricycle Riders Association on a courtesy visit at the Command Headquarters, Yenagoa.

The delegation, led by its Chairman, Comrade Ebimene Embabo, discussed possible areas of collaboration with the Command towards enhancing security and maintaining peace across the State.

The CP, while expressing pleasure in receiving the Association, urged its leadership to regularly sensitise members on speed limits, respect for other road users and responsible conduct, stressing that such measures are necessary to safeguard lives.

The CP also emphasised the need for members to conspicuously display their approved Ministry of Transport (MOT) identification numbers on their tricycles, noting that proper identification would help distinguish genuine operators from criminal elements who may disguise as members to perpetrate crime. He assured the Association of the Command’s continued willingness to collaborate with relevant stakeholders in advancing crime prevention and public safety, while praying for God’s protection and guidance upon all members of the Association.

Responding, Comrade Ebimene Embabo appreciated the Commissioner of Police for the warm reception and reaffirmed the Association’s readiness to cooperate with the Police towards ensuring a peaceful and secure Bayelsa State.

BAYELSA CP CONTINUES SURPRISE DUTY TOUR OF POLICE DIVISIONS, TASKS PERSONNEL ON PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT, ALERTNESS

• As CP Ajao charges DPOs on maintenance of facilities and strict compliance with police regulations

The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Ajao Saka Adewale, psc, mnips, FCAI, today 18th October, 2026 conducted an unannounced duty tour of police divisions in Ogbia and Nembe Local Government Areas to assess personnel alertness, discipline, sanitation and compliance with extant police regulations.

The police divisions visited include: Otuokpoti, Kolo and Ogbia in Ogbia LGA, as well as Nembe Ogbolomabiri and Nembe Bassambiri in Nembe LGA.

During the unannounced visits, the Commissioner of Police inspected station facilities, detention areas and duty posts, and assessed the operational readiness of personnel. He also engaged officers and men on the demands of their duties and the importance of maintaining public confidence in the Police.

CP Ajao charged the Divisional Police Officers to maintain clean, orderly and functional stations, ensure proper supervision of personnel and keep their teams alert at all times. He stressed that discipline and professionalism must be evident in both the appearance of police facilities and the conduct of officers serving in them.

The CP further reminded personnel that every arrest and detention must comply with the law and established police procedures. He warned against unlawful detention, arbitrary arrest and any conduct that infringes on the rights of members of the public.

He assured residents that the Command would continue to strengthen supervision across its formations while working to provide responsive and effective policing throughout Bayelsa State.
