MEET SURV. IGO GOIN ASSEMBLY
Surv Igo Assembly Goin was born on the 7th day of September, 1961 to the family of Chief and Mrs Igo Goin of Amatolo town in Ogboin Clan in Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State.
He started his academic journey in 1970 after the Nigerian civil war when he attended State School Amatolo. He say for and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1974. Thereafter he proceeded to the famous Southern Ijaw Secondary School Oporoma, popularly known as SISSO in 1974. As a hardworking student, Surv Igo Assembly Goin completed his secondary education on schedule in 1979 and acquired his West African School Certificate ( WASC). In 1983 he proceeded to Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt where he studied and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying.
During the course of his degree programme, he worked as a Trainee Surveyor in INTERNATIONAL HYDROGRAPHIC COMPANY LIMITED, Port Harcourt between 1986 and 1987. After graduation in 1988, he went on to the mandatory youth service (NYSC) and served as Supervisor and later as Cartographer II in the National Population Commission in Makurdi, Benue State between 1988 and 1990. After completing his youth service, he again briefly worked as a Pupil Surveyor at International Hydrographic Co. Ltd in Port Harcourt between February and June 1990.
As a young energetic Surveyor, he was employed as a Senior Surveyor by United Geophysical, an oil prospecting company based in Moregun waterside in Warri, Delta State between June 1990 and February 1991. Thereafter he joined Geoprakla Schlumberger also based in Warri as Senior Surveyor from February 1991 to 1993. His professional career as a chartered surveyor climaxed into his founding of Geobeam Global Ltd, a private company based in Amarata, Yenagoa where has been the Principal Consultant since 2002 till date.
Surv Igo Assembly Goin who is a Fellow of the Nigeria Institution of Surveyors, is also a registered member of the Surveyors Council of Nigeria. He is a member of Geo Information Society of Nigeria, and also a founding member of International Geospatial Society. Due to his zeal to attain perfection and success in his chosen profession, Surv Igo has travelled to so many countries to attend seminars, conferences and workshops. They include the following:
1. Nigeria Institution of Surveyors (NIS) Annual General Meetings (AGMs) from 2002 till date.
2. FIG 5th Regional Conference for Africa. 8 - 11 March 2006, Accra - Ghana. Theme: Promoting Land Administration and Good Governance.

4. FIG Working Week. 13 - 17 May 2007 in Hong Kong. Theme: Strategic Integration of Surveying Services.

6. Survey Summit - American Congress of Surveying and Mapping. 5 - 8 July 2009, San Diego, California USA.

Between 2009 and 2018, Surv Igo was the Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, Bayelsa State branch. Prior to his becoming chairman of NIS, he was given a special recognition in appreciation for his service to NIS as Councilor in 2008.
The story of Surv Igo Assembly Goin cannot be completed without the mention of his active involvement in politics. He has always been a staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Between 2006 and 2008 he was elected as Zonal Youth Leader of the PDP in the South-South zone. He has also few political positions in his service to Bayelsa and mankind. They include:

2. Special Assistant to the Speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly on Capital City Development - March 2012 - August 2015.
3. Member Boundary commission 2013 to 2015
4. Managing Director, Bayelsa State Geographic Information Systems, September 2015 - February 2020.
5. Member, Bayelsa State Land Use and Allocation Committee, 2017 - February 2020.
