I wish to express my profound appreciation and commendation to the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his exemplary leadership disposition, strategic composure, and statesmanship in facilitating a peaceful and widely accepted consensus endorsement of candidates of the APC in Ebonyi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This deliberate recourse to consensus-building represents a pragmatic institutional mechanism for deepening democratic consolidation, mitigating intra-party contestations, and fostering a culture of political stability. It is, without equivocation, a progressive template that enhances electoral harmony and strengthens the party’s collective capacity to secure a resounding victory at the polls.

The overwhelming acceptance of this process by critical stakeholders and party organs is a testament to the inclusivity, transparency, and strategic foresight underpinning the governor’s leadership. It further reflects a shared commitment to preserving party unity and advancing the overarching developmental agenda of our great state.

At this critical juncture, it is incumbent upon the entire APC family in Ebonyi State, particularly beneficiaries of the administration’s impactful governance and democratic dividends, to consolidate our structures, close ranks, and intensify grassroots mobilisation in preparation for a decisive and overwhelming victory in the forthcoming general elections.

I equally commend the highly strategic, industrious, and result-oriented State Chairman of the party, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, for his administrative dexterity, organisational acumen, and unwavering commitment to strengthening party cohesion and discipline across all levels. His leadership has remained instrumental in stabilising the party architecture and ensuring seamless coordination among stakeholders.

Together, we shall continue to advance the ideals of progressive governance, institutional synergy, and sustainable development in Ebonyi State.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified preparations for its 2026 National Convention with an inspection of the proposed venue, Eagle Square in Abuja, today by the party’s Protocol Committee.

The inspection followed a strategic meeting at the Kano Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, where party leaders and members of the convention protocol committees deliberated on critical plans and coordination ahead of the national gathering.

The Protocol Committee was led by the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, alongside the Secretary, Hadiza Bala Usman. Also present was the highly esteemed Rt. Hon. Chinedu Ogah, OON, Member Representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State, whose leadership and expertise continue to elevate the committee’s efforts, among other committee members.

The committee has been tasked with managing official courtesies and precedence, coordinating invitations and RSVPs, organizing receptions, overseeing ushering and seating arrangements, and ensuring the smooth movement of dignitaries during the convention.

This convention is expected to attract thousands of party members, leaders, and stakeholders, making it one of the largest political gatherings in the country, and the ongoing inspections and meticulous planning are aimed at delivering a seamless and well-organised national convention.

LAWMAKER OGAH PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT OVER THE DEATH OF HIS ROYAL MAJESTY EZE FRANCIS IGWE, AGOM UGBALA II OF NDUFU ALIKE AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITY

On behalf of my family and the good people of Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, I, Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, OON, Chairman, House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, National Assembly, extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of His Royal Majesty, Eze Francis Igwe, Agom Ugbala II of Ndufu Alike Autonomous Community, who was tragically assassinated by his abductors on the 2nd of March, 2026, following his abduction at Nwakpu Alike in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

I strongly condemn this barbaric and senseless act which led to the unfortunate and irreversible loss of the revered traditional ruler. Such a heinous crime is not only inhumane but also a direct affront to the cherished cultural values and peaceful traditions of our people.

I therefore urge sons and daughters of Ikwo Noyo Clan and the entire community to desist from acts of violence and the unlawful taking of human life, as such behaviour is barbaric, uncivilized, and unacceptable in our society.

This is a critical moment for all stakeholders to employ every necessary strategy, including lawful traditional mechanisms, to uncover the root cause of this tragic incident. I assure the good people of Ikwo that I will follow this matter diligently to its logical conclusion and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

I deeply sympathize with the people of Ikwo Noyo, Ndufu Alike community, and particularly my brother, friend, and son of the deceased monarch, His Excellency, Barr. (Chief) Eric Kelechi Igwe, PhD, former Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State and currently a Board Member of the Nigerian Ports Authority, over this painful loss.

May Almighty God grant eternal rest to the soul of our dear father, monarch, and faithful servant, and grant the bereaved family and the entire community the strength to bear this irreparable loss.

Signed:
Rt. Hon. (Comrade) Chinedu Ogah, OON
Member Representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency
