2023: Time To Restore The Fortunes Of Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency

The battle ahead in 2023 of who fills the vacuum of the prestigious constituency was one of the hardest puzzle within the area, not until our very own son Akparawa Okon Imerh, a man of reputable character and a philanthropist indicated interest to represent the area in the House of representatives to restore confidence, dignity and bring us the lost glory of effective representation of the constituency.

Recall that Distinguished Senator Ita Solomon Enang made an indelible mark and achievements when he represented the constituency from 1999-2011 and left a big vacuum which no one has able to fill for almost 12 years now.

Akparawa Okon Imerh, a former Chief protocol to the then governor of Akwa Ibom State, Arc. Obong Victor Attah, has the needed pedigree and antecedents to fill that gap. He is one man that is so cherished and loved by the people. His commitments and supports towards the vision of All Progressives Congress from the days of defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), is unprecedented. He is a special breed politician whose belief centers on politics of inclusiveness and equality without gender discrimination. Okon Imerh is so loved especially by the women in the area and he is always responsive to their yearnings and welfare related matters.

2023: Akparawa Okon Imerh joins Itu/Ibiono Ibom federal constituency race

As the run-up to the 2023 elections continue to gather momentum, a former chief protocol to His Excellency, (Arc.) Obong Victor Attah, Akparawa Okon Imerh has joined the House of representatives race in Itu/Ibiono Ibom federal constituency under the platform of All progressives Congress APC.

His aspirations to represent the good people of Itu/Ibiono Federal constituency came after due consultations of stakeholders and party faithfuls in the area.

Okon Imerh is one of the trusted and accessible politician we have in the area and his desire to represent the constituency has been his dream over the years.

The erudite politician and philanthropist had earlier the week, picked his expression of interest and nomination forms to join the race ahead of 2023. He presented the nomination form to APC faithfuls across all wards in the Federal constituency for signing and endorsements and his race has received a lot of supports and accolades in the area.

Protest: Sen. Ita Enang Calls For Peace in A'Ibom

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and Economic Diversification, Distinguished Senator Ita Enang yesterday, met with Stakeholders across parties in Akwa Ibom State.

In his speech, Enang said there was a consensus that the protests were well-intentioned hence President Muhammadu Buhari acceded to all the initial demands of the protesters starting with the disbandment of SARS. He admonished the youths to maintain the peace ad take advantage of the Judicial Panels of Enquiry set up to address grievances of members of the public. He said all Federal appointees in the State were servants of the people and are therefore always available to address issues bordering on governmental relations.

"The sacked chairman also claimed to have set up a panel that supposedly suspended everybody whom he felt was masterminding his misfortunes and that's how my name was featured, in fact, I saw a poorly scripted letter of suspension and another appointing a panel on social media. The letter was even unsigned, and I wondered as a lawyer that have been on this business for about 17 years, why an adult will not know the legal effect of an unsigned letter that is meant to confer an appointment on another. So, it's a waste of time. Coincidentally, that panel never sat, I never took it seriously and I don't think anybody would"
