OUR VISION

To expediently and professionally produce Annual, Supplementary, Parastatals and other Government Agencies financial estimates for the State within the policy thrust and cardinal objectives of Government with the aim to ensuring balanced growth, development and smooth administration of the State in line with the framework of Akwa Ibom State Economic Empowerment Strategy (AK-SEED) and the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs).

OUR MISSION

To effectively and efficiently prepare, coordinate, monitor, evaluate and facilitate ex*****on of Budget policies, programmes and activities of Government in the over all interest of the public and in line with global best practices, Our Clients are, Agencies,Local Government Councils, State House of Assembly, Educational Institutions, Media Organisations, Financial Institutions and the general public.The level of productivity of the State Budget Office has been enhanced since the inception of this administration under Pastor Nicholas Ekarika (CNA) We pledge to deliver our products and service listed in the Charter in an honest and transparent manner without fear or favour.

OUR OBJECTIVES

1.To ensure prompt and timely preparation, production and coordination of the State Revenue and Expenditure Estimates in line with policy thrust of Government.
2. To liaise with other relevant Government agencies to coordinate and facilitate activities of Government and its agencies.
3.To advise Government on the best financial policies to achieve optimum development, etc.
4. To provide full proof of financial framework to ensure the Government resources are not lost due to leakages and misappropriation
Akwa Ibom State Budget Office is face with the responsibilities of advising Government on the financial and appropriate fiscal policies, Issuance of Budget Call circulars, Preparation and production of the State Annual and Supplementary Budget and the provision of inputs for budget defence, Drafting the State Budget Speech, assisting the Ministry of Justice in drafting the Appropriation/Supplementary Appropriation bills for assent by the Governor.

The State Budget Office comprises Seven Directorates with the Permanent Secretary as the Administrative Head, supervised by the Honorable Commissioner of Finance.
