GOV UMO ENO DONATES PATROL VEHICLES TO SECURITY AGENCIES

… Says Akwa Ibom not a safe haven for criminals

In line with the security management aspirations of the ARISE Agenda, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has donated Toyota Hilux Trucks to security agencies in the State to boost their operations.

This is in addition to fourteen gunboats recently donated by the Governor for the security of the waterways.

Presenting the vehicles to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Waheed Ayilara, Gov. Eno noted that it was part of the government’s effort at ensuring that the State is rid of criminal elements and remains one of the most peaceful and safest for its citizenry and investors.

He noted that his administration will stop at nothing to ensure that peace and security in the State are maintained.

Governor Eno mentioned that the state was also setting up a Tactical Command Control Centre to enhance information sharing and synergy among the relevant agencies and thanked the service commanders for the robust relationship between the various security agencies and the state government.

He commended their diligence in managing changes in the command structure without allowing security gaps, adding, “We are determined because the primary duties of any government are to secure the lives and property of its citizenry and their welfare; we are determined to make sure we don’t fail in that regard.

“We’ll do anything to ensure that criminals flee Akwa Ibom shores, whether it is by sea or land. We are donating these vehicles towards the realization of those goals and objectives of the government and the benefit of our people.

“I had promised that I’ll give whatever it takes to continue to improve security in this state. We had donated the boats, and we will make sure all 14 of them are put to use. We’re going to support with land vehicles and other gadgets. We’re setting up a Tactical Command Control Centre in Akwa Ibom so that all the services can work together,”

GOV ENO SWEARS-IN TWELVE NEW PERMANENT SECRETARIES

Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, administered oath of office to twelve new Permanent Secretaries for the State Civil Service in a colourful ceremony held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo.

The new Permanent Secretaries are Mrs. Grace Akpan, Mr. Emma Udonsek, Dr Emmanuel Iton, Ignatius Ekwere, Mrs Elsie Peters, Dr. Igbemi Igbemi.

Others are Mr. Edet Nsungwara, Dr. John Orok, Dr. Abraham Inyangudoh, Mrs. Rose Stephen, Mrs. Affiong Ebieme and Dr. Friday Ido.

I celebrated my 60th birthday with profound gratitude, reflecting on the incredible journey guided by God's grace and blessings. Yesterday, we witnessed the commissioning of transformative projects like the 1.3-kilometer underground concrete flood control tunnel and the reconstruction of key roads in Uyo.

The presence of Former President Goodluck Jonathan and his commendation underscore the significance of our collective efforts towards the ARISE Agenda. Projects like the reconstruction of a section of Atiku Abubakar Way, complete with walkways, drainage, and solar street lights, are tangible manifestations of our commitment to enhancing infrastructure and livelihoods in our beloved state.

I am deeply grateful for the support and encouragement from stakeholders and the people of Akwa Ibom State. Together, we will continue to prioritize the welfare and development of our communities, safeguarding the legacy of progress for generations to come. With God's grace and our shared dedication, the future holds boundless opportunities for our state. Thank you for your unwavering faith and support.

As I celebrate my 60th birthday today, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the countless blessings God has bestowed upon me throughout my life's journey.

Reflecting on the years gone by, I am humbled by the way God has used me, not only as a shepherd guiding His flock but also as a leader entrusted with the responsibility of serving the people of Akwa Ibom State.

God's grace has been evident in every aspect of my life, from my humble beginnings to the position of Governor of Akwa Ibom State. He has blessed me with wisdom, strength, and unwavering faith to navigate the challenges and triumphs that come with leadership.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to implement the ARISE Agenda, a vision inspired by God's calling to uplift our state and its people. Through this agenda, we have witnessed remarkable progress in various sectors, from agriculture to infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

In this new decade of my life, I am committed to continuing God's work with zeal and dedication. May His light shine through me, illuminating the path of righteousness for all. To God be the glory for the great things He has done and will continue to do. Amen.

COMMITTEE
The National Executive
Council of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP)
has inaugurated an
Election Review
Committee with Senator
Bala Mohammed as its
Chairman.
Akwa Ibom State
Chairman of the party,
Obong Udo Ekpenyong,
who made this known on
Wednesday at the PDP
Secretariat, Atan Offot,
Uyo, said the chapter was
mandated to set up a sub
committee that will send
the state's inputs to the
National Review
Committee.
Obong Ekpenyong
announced the Speaker of
the Akwa Ibom State
House of Assembly, Rt.
Hon. Aniekan Bassey, as a
member of the Sub-
Committee with a
mandate to receive
memoranda from
stakeholders and faithful
of the party.
The Sub-Committee also
