UKWOK RECEIVES, CONFERS AWARD OF EXCELLENCE ON UDOIDE
Passes Vote of Confidence on Gov Eno, Udoide, Inibehe Umah
In recognition of the undismayed contributions of the Member representing INI State Constituency, Hon (Dcn) Lawrence Udoide MHSN, JP to the development of his community and his Constituency, Ukwok Kingdom-a group of villages in ward 9 and 10, INI Local Government Area has honoured Udoide with Award of Excellence.
The Award was presented on Saturday, 21st December, 2024 during a Reception Ceremony organized in honour of the Lawmaker at Government Primary School, Usuk Ukwok.
Speaking while presenting the Award, the Community Leader, CSP Asuquo Inyang Rtd said the Lawmaker has emerged a uniting force and the Award is a show of the community determination to act in unity and speak in one voice. According to him, the Lawmaker has performed creditably, driving community development through legislations and effective representation.
In his goodwill message, the Executive Chairman of INI Local Government Area, Hon Inibehe Umah described Hon Udoide as an articulate and excellent legislator. He said, Udoide has represented INI State Constituency excellently well and has built bridges of relationship that can fast track development in the area. According to him, their relationship transcends time, beyond politics and they're poised to leverage on it to attract development to Ukwok community and INI LGA.
In his speech, the Chairman on the occasion-Director General of Eka Ubok Abasi Campaign Organization, Hon (Elder) Isaac Moses said he was not taken aback by the Award and a well organized reception since according to him, the Lawmaker is trail blazing in his approach to community development, pragmatic in lawmaking and a voice who has refused to be a bench wormer at the Assembly.
Presenting a welcome address, the President of the coordinating body of the Reception Ceremony, Ukwok Natives Assembly, Elder Ukeme Udofia listed milestones of the Lawmaker to include sponsorship of a motion for the construction of Nung Ukim/ukwok/Ibam Edet road and his persistent advocacy on the need for the construction of the road, payment of grants to INI students, timely response to the needs of his people, being accessible to all and sundry amongst others.
Responding, Hon Udoide reiterated his determination to continue to engender peace, unity and development in the community and the entire local government area. According to him, as one who grew up with his people, development challenges in the community are not strange to him and he is working hard to meet them.
He used the occasion to thank his community for the support they gave His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, himself and recently, the Executive Chairman of INI, Hon Inibehe Umah in 2023 general elections and local government elections respectively. He used the occasion to solicit support for His Excellency, the Governor beyond 2027.
The Community through a motion moved by Hon Effiong Udofia and seconded by the Leader, INI Legislative Council, Hon Donald Usoroh, passed a vote of confidence on the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, Member, INI State Constituency, Hon (Dcn) Lawrence Udoide MHSN, JP and the Executive Chairman of INI Local Government Area, Hon Inibehe Umah.
There were goodwill messages from the Political Leader of ward 10, Hon Effiong Udofia, the Clan Representative of Ukwok Traditional Rulers Council, Eteidung James Ekanem, PDP Chapter Chairman, Hon Imoh Abam, Councilor Ward 10, Hon Sunday Ekpo, Councilor Ward 9, Hon Best Effiong amongst others.
