AKS HOUSING COMMISSIONER TOURS PROJECT SITES AND ESTATES
.Warns Communities Against Encroachment
In a bid to assess ongoing projects under the ministry's supervision and status of government established housing facilities, the Honourable Commissioner for Housing in Akwa Ibom State, Rt. Hon. Dr. Henry Archibong has embarked on a strategic tour of key project sites and estates.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the inspection tour, Rt. Hon. Dr. Henry Archibong reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to ensuring that all housing projects align with the Governor’s ARISE Agenda for sustainable development. He noted that these projects are geared towards improving the living standards of Akwa Ibom residents while attracting investments into the housing sector.
The Commissioner who was ccompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Housing, Barr. Uduak Eyo-Nsa, and other top officials, from the Ministry said they are geared to deliver world-class housing solutions that will not only benefit the people but also contribute to the overall economic growth of the state. He noted that the tour provided an opportunity for firsthand assessment and evaluation of progress, as well as interactions with contractors to ensure timely and quality project delivery, adding that the Governor Umo Eno-led administration is committed to providing quality housing solutions for residents as evidenced in his policy thrust and warned against encroachment into government owned properties.
Sites visited include; the Arise City, Mbieriebe Akpawat, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area; where Governor Umo Eno had earlier performed the groundbreaking ceremony. This ambitious project is expected to redefine urban development in Akwa Ibom, offering modern, affordable housing to residents, Grace Estate that spans across part of Ibiono Ibom and Ikono Local Government Areas; where he inspected the housing units recently allocated to civil servants by Governor Umo Eno.
The team also toured the Mass Housing Estate, Idu, Uruan Local Government Area; a large-scale residential facility, as well as the Aviation Village, which he described as a vital housing initiative designed to support the growing aviation sector and boost the local economy. The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the level of work done and reiterated the government’s commitment to completing the project on schedule.
Meanwhile, the MD, Ras Premium Construction Company; Chief Ghanem Rasbieh who was on hand to receive the team at the Aviation Village has affirmed his company's readiness to deliver quality projects within the stipulated time line.
