MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND CO-OPERATIVES CONDOLES WITH HER STAFF.

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mrs Enobong Mbobo today led the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Grace Jim, Directors and Staff of the Ministry to condole with and stand by her Director of Account and Finance, Mrs Victoria Thompson as she bids her mother inlaw farewell.

The burial which took place at Government Primary School, Ikot Ofiok Nsit, Nsit Ibom LGA was conducted by United Evangelical Church, Four Towns, Uyo and had friends and family gathered to make the event a success.

ROAD GRADING:
HON. COMMISSIONER COMMENDS MR UDOM EMMANUEL.

The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel has ordered immediate grading of roads in rural areas to create access to goods and services especially as the raining season is approaching.

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mrs Enobong Mbobo, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Grace Jim, immediate past Chairman of of Ini LGA, Hon Etetim Anwatim, Chairman of Ika LGA, Hon Macaulay Ukpe and Directors of the Ministry were on hand to inspect the graded roads in Itu and Ika LGA respectively. While waiting for report from other LGAs, presented here are pictures from the above mentioned LGAs. Esa Akpanatta in Ikot Obong village, linking AKBC Staff quarters in Itu LGA, Ikot Inwang/Ikot Akele, nto ukara, Urua Inyang, abala and Aba road, Urban Ward 1 in Ika LGA were graded.

AS GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES, LIVE UP TO EXPECTATIONS.

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mrs Enobong Mbobo has urged the Staff of the Ministry to live up to expectations as representatives of government. The statement was made while addressing the Staff during the Permanent Secretary's maiden meeting with Staff of the Ministry.

Mrs Mbobo thanked His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel for a conducive work environment and encouraged the Staff to shun truancy. She added that once there is failure in carrying out assigned duties, it is the government that eventually take the blame. She said we are the Government and should be responsible. She called for innovative ideas to enhance work performance.

Also speaking, the newly posted Permanent Secretary, Mrs Grace Jim, who assumed office about two weeks ago, said, she is on a mission to build a formidable work force that will be ready to achieve desired goals.

Mrs Jim applauded His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel for constantly striving to meet and keep up with the demands of the Civil Service.
As the Chief Administrator of the Ministry, She called on the Staff to be conversant with and adhere to the Civil Service rules as defaulting will attract penalties. She warned against absenteeism, habitual lateness, loitering and shabby dressing, while taking time to educate on the ethics and tenets of Civil Service.

To avoid being disciplined and penalized, She advice Staff to stay in their offices and work as she will not tolerate lackadaisical attitude to work and will not hesitate to take punitive measures if need be on erring Staff. She reiterated the need for staff to use the movement register after obtaining permission from their different heads before moving to anywhere. She also maintained that proper communication line established in Civil Service be adhered to, "Use proper channels of communication and filling system" she added.

For proper accountability and service delivery, she insisted on monthly departmental meetings for timely identification of challenges and proffer solutions.

Finally, she stressed the importance of Staff welfare and proper periodic health check ups.

The Director of Administration, Dr Francis Iyohoikwa who gave the vote of thanks, commended the Honourable Commissioner and the Permanent Secretary for working assiduously towards the fulfilment of His Excellency's completion agenda and pledged on behalf of the Staff total commitment to work.

HAPPY MARRIED LIFE.

Today, God honoured Christabel Francis Abia, a staff of the Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives and a niece to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives, Dr Mrs Helen Ukpabio as she was traditionally given out in marriage to her heartthrob, Mr Akamimo Ekpo Sam, a staff in the Department of Establishment.

The ceremony which took place at Ikot Ekpenyong, Ibiono Ibom LGA had the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mrs Enobong Mbobo, Permanent Secretaries, Directors and Staff of MDAs and indeed guests from all works of life.

EXCERPTS OF THE MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF THE AKWA IBOM STATE GOVERNMENT HELD ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 28, 2022 AT THE EXCO CHAMBERS OF THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE, UYO

The meeting commenced at 6pm with the rendering of the National cm State anthems, and an opening prayer offered by Prof. Eno Ibanga(HC-Works and Fire Service).

The meeting was presided by HE the Governor, sitting as Chairman-In-Council, who welcomed all members back from the retreat and reminded that all members must take their assignments very seriously as time was a major concern.

Business of the day
All project ministries presented a status update of projects under their supervision, due for commissioning in the first and second quarters of this year. HC Works & Fire Service and HC-Special Duties undertook a comprehensive presentation of all ongoing projects in their ministries, with the projected completion period.

The Governor charged all Commissioners to ensure effective supervision of projects within their area of responsibility , for timely delivery.

The meeting came to an end at 7:44pm with a closing prayer worded by HC-Power and Petroleum Development.

TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE

IKOT ABASI WOMEN PRAYS
.. Mrs. Mbobo admonished Ikot Abasi women to hold unto God.

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mrs Enobong Mbobo today led the women of Ikot Abasi LGA in prayer and thanksgiving to God for protecting and sustaining the women all through the year 2021.

The Solemn Assembly which took place at the Women War Memorial Hall, Ikot Abasi Local Government Area attracted women from all works of life, ranging from the wife of Hon member representing Ikot Abasi/ Eastern Obolo State Constituency in AKHA, Mrs Sarah Odudoh, the first lady of Ikot Abasi LGA, Mrs Anabel Joshua Afia, Women Leaders, Councilors, Supervisor and market women among others all gathered together, pouring out praises and prayers to God.

In her remarks, the Honourable Commissioner, thanked God for sustenance. She equally appreciated His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel and His wife Dr. Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel for deeming it fit to give her the opportunity to serve the State. Mrs Mbobo admonished women to thank God in every situation no matter how bad. Reading from John 15:1-10, She urged women to keep holding onto God in prayers. In her words" God is our source, He is the vine, we are the branches and we cannot excel without Him" Mrs Mbobo maintained that God is able to change any situation they find themselves. She advised women to maintain peace at home and in their community. Women should be gate keepers at home, watching over and training their children to shun vices and other misconducts, she added.

Further more, Mrs. Mbobo ceased the opportunity to enlightened and urged the women to make sure that they partake in the ongoing PDP e-registration and revalidation of it's members and get their NIN as this is the only way they can participate in choosing their leaders.

While Preaching, Evang. Amah Smart read from the book of Esther chapter 2 where she encouraged the women to hope in God who lifted Esther, an orphan to become a queen adding that God will send helpers who will lift them into their position of honour.

High point of the event was choir rendition, words of advice from women leaders, goodwill messages, prayers for Akwa Ibom State, Ikot Abasi LGA, and the entire women of Ikot Abasi LGA.
