The Member Representing Itu-Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Barr. Ime Bassey Okon, has officially endorsed the Itu-Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency Student's Association Worldwide as the Grand Patron, pledging unwavering support to the Union in all its endeavors.

The endorsement came following a visit by Comrade Otobong Esara, Acting Chairman of the Itu-Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency Student's Association Worldwide, accompanied by the entire Union Executive, to the resident of Hon. Ime Bassey Okon.

During the meeting, the IFCSAW Acting Chairman articulated the association's mission to foster unity, promote peace, encourage academic excellence, and facilitate community development among students from the federal constituency across various higher institutions worldwide.

In a symbolic gesture, Comrade DianaAbasi Akpan, the Union's Legal Adviser, presented the Supreme Constitution of the Association to Hon. Ime Okon, further solidifying the commitment of the Union to its goals and values.

Expressing his appreciation for the initiative, Hon. Ime Bassey Okon commended the Union's efforts to strengthen ties between the two sister local governments and emphasized the importance of maintaining focus on academic pursuits alongside union activities.

As a staunch supporter of education and youth development, Hon. Ime Bassey Okon affirmed his endorsement of the association's vision and pledged his full support, recognizing the pivotal role students play in shaping the future of the constituency.

The endorsement of the Itu-Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency Student's Association Worldwide by Hon. Ime Bassey Okon marks a significant milestone in the Union's journey towards fostering unity, leadership, and academic excellence among students from the federal constituency.

ONUK FLAGS OFF PAYMENT OF BUSARY FOR ALL ITU STUDENTS IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS

In fulfilment of his campaign promise to National Association of Itu Students (worldwide), and less than 48 hours before he leaves office, the Executive Chairman of Itu LGA, Hon. Barr. Etetim Onuk, yesterday, flagged off the payment of bursary for all Itu students who are studying in different tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Performing the official flag-off, the representative of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Sam Omiom, who is the Director of Administration, Deputy Governor's Office, extolled the unbeatable legacies of Barr. ONUK and urged the students to make judicious use of the funds allocated, and presented them with bursary grants.

Responding, the Worldwide President, National Association of Itu Students NAITS, Comr. Otobong Edidiong Esara , and the students' body Adviser, Comr. Amb Hogan Hogan, poured heartfelt encomiums on the Itu Council helmsman, for coming to the plight of Itu Students, and pledged to make judicious use of the funds given them.

The flag-off was well attended by entire Itu Council, including the Head of Local Government Service, Mr. Dominic Utin, Councillors, Council Secretary, Supervisors, and the entire Itu NULGE leadership.

It is on record, that after the first bursary payment, more than 20 years ago ,Hon. Barr. Etetim Onuk is the only Council Chairman to pay bursary to Itu Students.

Again, this is a testament to the altruistic and people-centric leadership of Barr. Onuk. May God bless him MORE.

PRESS RELEASE

The Bursary committee and the Union wishes to use this medium to appreciate the local government Chairman, Barr. Etetim Onuk and his Executives for the approval and commencement of bursary payment for Itu Students' Worldwide.

We also appreciate all Itu Students' Worldwide for their patients and faith towards this administration and the Worldwide President, Comr. Otobong Esara and his Executives for their effort towards the delivery of this heartbeat project for Itu Students.

On this note, We official invite all Itu students who had indicated interest in the Itu local Government Student Busary award to;

1. Make themselves available for physical verification and payment on Tuesday 5th Dec, 2023.

2. The local Government Chairman after having a brief meeting with the president of National Association of Itu Students worldwide on Monday 27th Nov, 2023 disclosed his plan to flag off the disbursement of the students Busary award on 5th Dec, 2023.

3. All Chapter Presidents are directed to mobilized their members for the disbursement exercise on 5th Dec, 2023.

4. We humbly request for the Bursary funds to be released to the bursary committee to enhance smooth disbursement to the students.

5. The Union expresses their gratitude toward the Chairman Barr. Etetim Onuk for keeping to his promises toward students community.
