Ozigbo not yet PDP candidate – Uba

The governorship candidate of a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ugochukwu Uba, has said it is premature to address Valentine Ozigbo as the authentic candidate of the party.

A Court of Appeal had declared Ozigbo who emerged in a parallel governorship primary poll held on June 26 this year at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre as the candidate of the party, hence, paving the way for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to publish his name.

Anambra State High Court sitting in Awka, the state capital had earlier declared Senator Uba who emerged the standard bearer of the party in a parallel poll held in the premises of Paul University, Awka as the authentic candidate.

Uba, through the spokesperson of his campaign organisation, Uchem Obi, a lawyer, said it was only after the Supreme Court ruling on the matter that the authentic candidate would be known.

“We have three prayers at the Supreme Court. We are asking the court to allow our appeal, set aside the decision of the Court of Appeal and then restore the judgment of High Court of Anambra State, Awka which clearly pronounced Senator Ugochukwu Uba as the authentic candidate of PDP for the election.

“We can only talk of the authentic candidate of the PDP after the Supreme Court decision. Anybody discussing the issue of PDP candidacy must take the above information into consideration.

“Calling Valentine Ozigbo the candidate of PDP is premature, even the INEC knows that. Let’s await the decision of the Supreme Court. Right now, it is 1-1. Uba and Ozigbo are both qualified for final contest which will take place at the Supreme Court soon”,

FROM THE STATE ASSEMBLY

26 out of 30 members of the state House of Assembly attended today's plenary.

All the 6 members that were reported to have defected to the APC were also in attendance.

Surprisingly,4 actually announced their defection to the APC while 2 went back to their original party, APGA.

The grazing Bill passed through the 1st reading today.

FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW SOLUDO

The Former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) gubernatorial candidate in the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, as a member of the pioneer class at Uga Boys High School came out with a Distinction in WASC WAEC, 1980.

Odenigbo Old Aguata Union (OAU),
made 1st Class in Economics from Prestigious UNN. Soludo got his PhD in a record time.

Odenjinji Aguleri Omambala, became a Professor at a young age meaning that he started contributing to knowledge quite early in his life, and produced graduates and scholars via supervising PhD students.

Dikeudo Isuofia, excelled outside the University at Central Bank of Nigeria unlike most Scholars that found it very hard to cope outside the ivy walls of academia.

Prof Soludo is the only Central Bank Governor whose name was not forgotten immediately he left office. He's tested and trusted.

Under Soludo as Central Bank Governor, Okonjo Iweala, President Obasanjo with their advise and various inputs, was able to get Nigeria out of debt.

If Ndi Anambra want a governor that will consolidate on the good works of APGA led Anambra State government, Soludo is the right man for the job.

If Anambra wants a governor that will continue from where Governor Willie Mmaduaburochukwu Obiano (Akpokue d**e Global) stopped, Prof. Soludo is the man to do it as number one servant of Anambra State.
