President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated several major infrastructure projects executed by the Lagos State Government under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The commissioned projects include the Open-Mende-Ojota Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographical Information System (LAGIS) building, and the multi-agency administrative complex in Alausa, now named the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex.
The President was represented at the ceremony by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who performed the formal inauguration on his behalf. Akpabio explained that the President’s absence was due to the demands of his office, which often prevent him from attending all official engagements.
In his address, President Tinubu emphasized that the commissioned projects are not merely physical structures but symbols of purposeful governance. He noted that they reflect a government committed to ensuring that development is visible, tangible, and impactful for citizens. Highlighting the significance of the Ojota-Okpebi Link Bridge, he described it as a vital connector that enhances mobility, boosts productivity, and improves overall quality of life in Lagos.
The President also expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government for naming the administrative complex in his honour, stating that he accepted the recognition with humility. He stressed, however, that the achievement represents collective institutional effort rather than individual accomplishment. According to him, the complex is designed to enhance efficiency, coordination, and service delivery within the public sector, while the LAGIS facility symbolizes the future of digital governance.
Furthermore, President Tinubu noted that the projects align with the broader national vision of building a modern, digitally driven, and economically robust Nigeria. He encouraged other states to replicate such standards and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, improved governance, and expanded economic opportunities. He also commended Governor Sanwo-Olu and his team for their dedication and effective ex*****on of the projects.
In his remarks, Governor Sanwo-Olu stated that the road and bridge project would significantly improve traffic flow and enhance productivity across the state. He added that the LAGIS building would modernize land administration by eliminating paper-based inefficiencies and strengthening property rights.
The Governor further explained that the newly named Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex would improve the speed, efficiency, and coordination of government services, while also providing a better working environment for public servants. He noted that the commissioning forms part of Lagos State’s broader infrastructure expansion strategy, which has delivered several landmark projects in recent years.
