AKU'S ACHIEVEMENTS IN PUBLIC OFFICES (Shabul Mazadu)

Political elective or appointive office holders, who understand the true concept of politics in line with Zik and Awolowo, try their best to improve the wellbeing of the people they represent irrespective of the magnitude, nature and scope of the office they occupy.
Aside from the membership of many boards, the House of Representatives candidate for Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Abbey Aku, has held two major offices in his political odyssey, and left behind some remarkable footprints.
Under the Dariye led administration, Aku was a councilor representing Tudun Wada/Kabong. As councilor which most citizens feel there was nothing to offer, Aku sponsored a bill on Environmental Sanitation which was passed into law in Jos North Local Government Council. This law, was later on replicated in some local government councils via emulation by their councilors.
As Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Abbey saw the need that the Brewery Agro Research Company, BARC, farms consisting of over 4,000 hectares of land laying waste, should be recouped from Murtala Nyako who purchased it, and be put back into good use by Plateau State Government instead of laying wastefully.
The BARC Farms which used to be one of the prides of Plateau State, became a cause of concern for most citizens of the state who hoped and prayed that it will one day be put to good use. The prayer was answered by Abbey becoming the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry. He swiftly facilitated the real purchase of the BARC Farms. And today, it is the property of Plateau State Government. This move of his, has
