The Lagos State Sports Commission as part of activities marking the 2015 World Disability Day engages pupils of different disable schools in the State. They were empowered in line with the 2015 theme and show them love. The special people were taking through 10 sports classes - Tennis, Ayo, Athletics, Handball, Volleyball et al.
At the end of the exercise, the LSSC distributed different sport equipment to all participating schools while the Chairman of the Commission - Mr. Ayodeji Tinubu charged the people not to see themselves as dejected or rejected. He promised that the programme will not be a one - off thing as the Commission will take steps further to see to their development and engagement in sport.

LAGOS STATE SPORTS COMMISSION CELEBRATE 2015 WORLD DISABILITY DAY.
International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3) is an international observance promoted by the United Nations since 1992.
It has been celebrated with varying degrees of success around the planet. The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
It was originally called "International Day of Disabled Persons" until 2007.
2015 tHEME: "Inclusion matters: access and empowerment for people of all abilities"
