AT RISK CHILDREN PROGRAMME
(ARC-P ) Sokoko has flagged off distribution of goats to the most supportive parents/ guardians of the children enrolled in the programme.
The distribution of the was officially perform by the state deputy governor Alh Idris Muhammad Gobir held at arc-p temporary office in Sokot.
The deputy governor who was represented by a member representing Sabon Birni East constituency in state House of Assembly Honourable Saidu Ibrahim Nairobi urged the beneficiaries to make the most productive use of the assistance to boost their living standards and for self reliance. Earlier the chairman project implementation Committee Malam Muhammad Lawal Maidoki Sadaukin Sakkwato in an address of welcome said supportive gifts were provided by ARC P headquarters in Abuja in appreciation of the beneficiaries contribution to the success of the scheme in Sokoto State. According him each parent or guardian would be empowered with three goats for them to rear and support the retention of their wards in the programme.Commenting the secretary of the project implementation committees PIC professor Aliyu Yakubu Gobir noted that the 500 beneficiaries were drawn from 23 local government areas of the state and a total of 1500 goat were disbursed accordingly.He further explained that 5000 poultry would be provided in the subsquent supportive gifts handouts for another batch of beneficiaries.
