The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Saki West Local Government, wishes to categorically address the recent outburst and incessant attacks that lack decorum by Hon. Sh*ttu Ibrahim, member representing Saki West Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, in which he leveled unfounded allegations against the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde. Hon. Sh*ttu’s claims that the governor has refused to release constituency allowances, and that he has been denied access to perform his legislative duties, are not only false but also a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and tarnish the image of a governor who has consistently prioritized good governance, equity, and transparency.
Let it be clearly stated that constituency allowances are not personal funds or automatic disbursements, but allocations subject to budgetary approval, legal procedures, and project accountability. Governor Makinde’s administration remains committed to prudent management of public resources, and any delay or procedural hold on disbursements is never driven by malice or political bias. It is therefore unfortunate that Hon. Sh*ttu, instead of engaging in due legislative processes to address any grievances, has chosen to pursue a campaign of misinformation that seeks to stir public sentiment for political gain.
We recognize and commend all efforts toward grassroots development, including any genuine empowerment programs initiated by elected officials which the one done yesterday by Sh*ttu Ibrahim was an audio empowerment without any verification of “300,000” people empowered. When an Honorable can’t do an open empowerment but in the confinement of one hall, you should know there’s no much substance compared to what has been done by previous officials that held that position. However, the narrative that personal donations should substitute or be used to undermine institutional governance is both irresponsible and self-serving. True leadership involves collaboration, not antagonism; dialogue, not drama. Hon. Sh*ttu’s approach in this matter is not only unbecoming of his office but also a disservice to the very constituents he claims to represent.
Even more troubling is the allegation that he has been “locked out” of the House of Assembly. Such a claim, lacking any official documentation or corroboration, amounts to a reckless attack on the integrity of our state institutions. If indeed such an action occurred, we expect a lawmaker to seek constitutional and legal remedies, not resort to media theatrics. Public institutions must not be dragged into baseless political narratives without evidence.
The PDP in Saki West stands firmly with Governor Seyi Makinde and his people-centered agenda, which has already yielded visible progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic growth. We call on Hon. Sh*ttu to redirect his energy towards legislative service and constructive engagement with both the executive arm and his constituency. The people of Saki West deserve representation marked by maturity, dignity, and purpose—not divisive rhetoric and unsubstantiated accusations.
In closing, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting the Makinde administration in delivering good governance, and we urge all public officeholders to uphold the spirit of unity, accountability, and service to the people.
