PRESS RELEASE
A REJOINDER TO RECALL SENATOR IBRAHIM MOHAMMED BOMAI
Our attention has been drawn to a letter in circulation on social media platforms and recently published by the Sahara Reporters emanating from a group calling itself Electorates of Yobe South addressed to the Chairman INEC requesting for recall of Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai and two other legislators in Yobe South.
The request for recall of Senator Bomai is not only malicious, mischievous, politically premeditated but totally uncalled for as it is certainly the work of his political detractors those within the APC who failed to stop him from emerging as a Senatorial candidate both in 2019 and 2023 working against the interest of the Party and those who lost the Yobe South senatorial election from other parties in 2023.This group of people afraid of his rising political profile and his future political career are trying to bring damage to his reputation for their selfish interests.
We believe it is this same group of people who not only used this group of uninformed and gullible youth in pushing for the recall of the Senator but also seemed to be the ones behind the singling out of his house for attack and the INEC Office during the protests in Potiskum on the 1st August 2024.The fact that it was only his house that was attacked in a location where there are also three other houses of prominent politicians confirms that his house was deliberately targeted by this group out of malice and pure hatred in order to damage his political career. This can further be buttressed by the fact that the routes followed by the protesters are far away from the location of Senator Bomai's house but were instigated by this political detractors to go and attack his house.
The claim on the letter of recall of Senator Bomai on non performance, lack of concern to his constituents and other unsubstantiated allegations is purely baseless and aimed at tarnishing his political image to scuttle his future political career as it is evident and on record that his performance as a Senator of Yobe South is unprecedented and second to none since the advent of the current political dispensation in 1999.
Distinguished Bomai is the most visionary politician ever emerged not only in Yobe South but in the whole of Yobe State looking at his performance in the last five years as an ordinary Senator and not even a principal one.His people's centered projects and programmes have positively impacted on all spheres of life in Yobe South cutting across all the four local governments in the Zone ranging from education, water supply, electricity, health, roads, telecommunications to general empowerment of youths and women. The following are the projects and programmes executed by Senator Bomai in his five years of representation as Senator of Yobe South according to sectors:

7.Senator Bomai will not be discouraged or waiver in his resolute commitment and love for the unity, progress and development of his people of Yobe South and indeed the State at large as these acts of deliberate machinations to damage his political career have in fact emboldened and made him more focused in continuing with his remarkable legislative duties and socio economic development of his people in fulfilling the mandate given to him by the good people of Yobe South, as their Senator.
Signed: Senator Ibrahim Bomai Media Team,
