Resolutions Reached at The End of Imo PPF Expanded Exco Meeting, Held on the 20th of June, 2021 Between 8pm - 10:35pm (Virtual Meeting)
The leadership meeting was attended by PPF Imo State Excos, Zonal and LGA Principal Officers, where key issues centering on; Imo PPF Leadership Conference 2021, LGA and Ward Structure consolidation, Imo PPF Expanded Exco Physical Meeting, Consultation/Introductory Engagements with PPF Mentors, APC Primary Elections and Imo PPF Involvement.
1. Imo PPF Leadership Conference 2021:
The forum deliberated extensively on the need to organize a leadership conference for Imo PPF Excos from ward level to state. The conference being designed to be a capacity building training, will target at equipping PPF Excos with the relevant skills and exposure that will aid in realizing the aims and objective of the organization, create a bonding environment for PPF members to meet and interact with Counterparts from across the 27 LGAs, with a view to getting inspiration to be more committeed to the programmes of the organization. It will also serve as an Orientation Day for all PPF Excos. The Forum resolved that the Leadership Conference will be held in mid November 2021, in Owerri.
2. PPF and Ward Structure Consolidation:
LGA Coordinators who have completed the formation of LGA excos and ward Coordinators were commended for their efforts, while others, especially the newly Appointed LGA Coordinators were encouraged to speed up action. They were further advised to carry along, State Officers and Zonal Excos from their respective LGAs, in forming their LGA and Ward Structures. All LGA Coordinators were given from the date of this meeting till end of September to conclude all matters relating to LGA and ward Structures. Noting that PPF will continue with its activities in the LGAs that has put its structures in place. Adding that, no LGA or Zone will be allowed to draw the organization back, every LGA is strongly advised measure up with others.
3. Imo PPF Expanded Physical Exco Meeting:
It was observed that the Expanded physical Meeting was previously slated for 13th June, 2021, but later suspended on security considerations, which necessitated the hosting of this virtual meeting. However, the Forum has resolved that a new date will be fixed in earnest. At the meeting, Imo PPF Leadership Conference 2021 and LGA /Ward structure build up will take the centre stage of our deliberations.
4. Consultation/Introductory Engagements with Imo PPF Mentors;
Imo PPF, in previous leadership meetings, had deliberated upon and the need to nominate one mentor per Senatorial zone, for the organization. the responsibility of the mentor is primarily but not limited to providing sound guidance to the organization to attain its set goals and core objectives. By such arrangements, Orlu zone will nominate one mentor, Owerri Zone will produce one mentor and similarly, Okigwe Zone will also nominate one mentor for the organization. The person to be nominated must be a core APC man or woman, a friend of the government but not necessarily a political appointee of the state government and the would be mentor, should be a person that will be available to offer some attention to the organization, when need be. He or she should also share in the objectives, programmes and aspirations of PPF. To this extent, Zonal Chairmen should liaise with other leaders of PPF in their zones to initiate engagment and consultation meeting with the nominated mentor, with a view to ascertain the person's consent, interest in the organization and his availability to act in the capacity of a mentor to the organization. Once the zone completes this engagements and obtains the consent of the would be mentor, the zone is expected to forward the name and details of their nominated mentor to the State for documentation and further engagements.
5. APC Convention 2021 and Imo PPF Involvement;
The Forum further encouraged excos and members of Imo PPF to be part of the congress. Urging them to get involved in the activities of the party at their various wards, LGAs, Zones and state. Those who have the capacity and are interested in holding elective offices in the party should endeavor to participate in the forthcoming ward, LGA and state congress elections. The Forum was emphatic that our great party, APC, deserves to be administered by technocrats with aura, capable of motivating grassroot support for the party, especially as it exercises towards the forthcoming general elections.
