REQUEST FOR INEC TO ANNOUNCE THE RESULT OF NWANGELE NKWERRE ISU NJABA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ELECTION

Impactful Imo Young Professionals Initiative - IIYPI wants to use this opportunity to call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately announce the result of the Nwangele Nkwerre Isu Njaba House of Representative election that held since Saturday 25th February, 2023

It is totally unacceptable that more than 50 days after the initial election, citizens from that part of Imo are yet to know who would represent them at the House of Reps even as the Nation counts down to the inauguration of the 10th Assembly.

As at 15th April, 2023 Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo was leading other candidates in that election with more than 10,000 votes. It is on record that the polling units where election was allegedly disrupted do not have up to 10,000 of PVC's collected thereby making the current House of Member for that constituency the rightful winner of the election.

We urge INEC to do the needful in the interest of peace, unity and fair play. This is even as we call on other candidates across different political parties to soften the tension already being experienced in Imo.

Politics is not war. In all of this, Imo comes first. We urge all to embrace every legal means possible to seek justice where they feel shortchanged.

We believe INEC should do the right thing as eyes are on them to once again test their sincerity.

Impactful Imo Young Professionals Initiative - IIYPI extends our heartfelt condolence to the family of H.E Emeka Ihedioha former Governor of Imo state on the demise of their mother, grand mother and great grand mother , Dame Dorothy Nsonma Ihedioha (Nee Okereke).

Mama lived a good life worthy of emulation. She would be remembered for her great commitment to the work of God and great passion to see a better Imo state.

We commiserate with the family and ask God to grant them the grace to overcome the loss.

May her soul find rest in the bosom of the Lord.

*LET'S UNITE TO ELECT ONLY COMPETENT PEOPLE WITH PASSION FOR IMO STATE* - Impactful Imo Young Professionals Initiative - IIYPI

A group of young technocrats under the aegis of * Impactful Imo Young Professionals Initiative - IIYPI has congratulated the political parties in Imo state as they formally elect those who would fly the flag of their respective parties during the National and State Assembly elections in 2023.

Despite the seeming challenges and complaints by some few individuals who contested their party primaries, it is right to say that real campaigns for political positions in Imo like other states would soon start in earnest as soon as INEC , the body saddled with conducting elections in Nigeria, gives the green light.

Considering the high expectations of Nigerians as regards those to be elected into office for the next political dispensation, Comrade Barry Ndu .N, the Global Convener of Imo Young Professionals has asked imo indigenes to campaign and vote for only those with a history of integrity and commitment to Good Governance. The youth Advocate urged voters who are yet to collect their PVC's to ensure they do so within the time frame so they can be in the right standing to exercise their constitutional mandate of electing who would lead them at the State and National Assembly since the Governorship election in the state would not be holding same time with other states.

He noted that it would be suicidal and an open cheque to another 4 years of poverty / under development if voters would collect peanuts from clueless politicians to vote them in during the next election. Comrade Barry urged them to reject every Greek gift and vote with their conscience as posterity would never forget if they keep doing the same things that have kept the state and Nation at the back seat of intentional under Development.

Furthermore, he reiterated that their group would be organizing National and State Assembly debates to review and weigh the ability of several contestants who are seeking for different offices while working assiduously towards organizing the *IMO GLOBAL EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP AWARD* in December to celebrate the performance of pace setters like Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo and others who have continued to make massive impact across their constituencies.

*Imo Young Professionals Initiative*, a Global Association that brings together young Imo indigenes from different fields of endeavor has asked the state Government to do everything possible in ensuring the right empowerment of the teeming unemployed young people in Imo state, stating that this would help in reducing the high level of insecurity , drug intake overdose, armed robbery and other social vices ravaging the once peaceful state.

Comrade Barry Ndu Nwaihim, The Global Coordinator of the group , Media Consultant and National PRO of Imo State Union Ghana while addressing news men over the weekend in Abuja noted that the rate of insecurity is basically because of joblessness and negligence by both the Federal and state Government. He said that a society that has no well defined and structured mechanism to empower the high number of young people graduating from the numerous universities is condemnable.

The Youth and Women Advocate noted that there are another huge percentage of many who cannot access university education yet society depends on them to be solution solvers and still remain responsible. He wondered how this can happen when there is no enabling environment for investors to put in money to establish industries that would enable this group of people to earn some pay that would help them solve average family and personal problems. All over the world, Imo indigenes are known to be intelligent, focussed and hardworking just like Kenneth Amaeshi , first black Professor of sustainable Finance and Governance at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy,Jidenna Theodore Mobisson, American rapper and singer, Perpetua Ijeoma Nkwocha, Nigerian female football star and many others. The Government has the moral responsibility to ensure the youthful population is guided towards the right direction of becoming useful as to contribute towards National Development.

'There is an urgent need for the strike by ASUU to end immediately, these young men and women cannot continue to sit at home against their own wish. This alone contributes to some level of prostitution, internet fraud , armed violence by these students as an idle man has always been the devils workshop. The several men and women elected as House members both at the Federal and state level should up their game by using their constituency funds to create a lasting foundation that should directly empower the many jobless people in the villages and streets of Owerri, the state capital. They should not wait for election time to start sharing peanuts just to get the votes of these same people they have impoverished.'

Finally, The group called on every young person in Imo to eschew all kinds of violent attributes as this would continue to chase away positive minded individuals who mean well for the state. "Become responsible and take positive steps towards being useful to society as any wealth gotten without laid down structures would surely go with the wind'.

They asked for support from all as they plan for their first Global press conference that would situate their position on various National and state issues even as they start plans towards the *2022 IMO GLOBAL EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP AWARD/ SUMMIT* holding in December.

*IN THE SPIRIT OF EASTER, DROP YOUR ARMS NOW AND SEEK THE FACE OF GOD - IMO YOUNG PROFESSIONALS INITIATIVE TO BANDITS CAUSING CRISIS IN SOUTH EAST*

- URGES THE FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT ACROSS THE SOUTH EAST TO START THE SPEEDY DEVELOPMENT OF THE REGION WHILE ADDRESSING MAJOR ISSUES THAT HAS LED TO THE UNNECESSARY VIOLENCE.

*Imo Young Professionals Initiative*, A foremost professional Group made up of young people making impact in their respective fields of endeavor has called on non state actors creating violence and killing unarmed citizens in the South East to stop henceforth and seek the face of God for repentance and forgiveness.

In his Easter message, Comrade Barry Ndu N., the Global Convener of IYPI wondered why these group of hoodlums have continued to perpetuate evil across major cities in the Region. He noted that South East has been one of the most peaceful zones in Nigeria until recently when armed violence, kidnapping , forced 'stay at home' and all sort of despicable acts were initiated by those who don't mean well for the people.

Comrade Barry asked them to drop their arms and logically state what the reason for their agitation are so the Government can do justice .

'As we celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ who died for our sins many years ago , we urge these men to remember that after life comes judgement. What would be their testimony on the last day. It is time to stop the suffering our people have been put through over the past two years. We cannot continue like this. No matter what the reasons are, nothing is impossible to be effectively addressed. Businesses are shutting down and running away from Alaigbo because of insecurity . Is this the kind of region we want to leave for our children? Let's embrace peace and unity so development can come to our different states'.

Furthermore, the Youth and Women Advocate asked the Federal and state Governments to start the immediate and total development of the Region, creation of job opportunities ,empowerment of the Youth and sustaining an enabling environment for investment. He reiterated the need for leaders to emulate Jesus, eschew corruption and truly become accountable to the people.

Concluding, the group's leadership asked the Governors of South East to set up a mediation team of passionate people to spearhead a truth and reconciliation process which would offer hope to those who have lost loved ones or properties all through the period.

They wished all Imo indigenes a wonderful Easter Celebration while hoping peace would truly return to the state in no distant time.
