‎The leadership of Osun Grassroot Movement (OGM) paid a strategic courtesy visit to Bobagunwa Teslim Igbalaye in Osun State.
‎
‎The meeting focused on strengthening grassroots mobilization ahead of the re-election bid of the Executive Governor of Osun State,his Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

‎Key discussions centered on:
‎Massive mobilization for PVC registration,
‎Expansion of membership registration across the state,
‎Inauguration of OGM structures across all Local Government Areas.
‎
‎The visit reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to grassroots political engagement, unity, and support for good governance under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
‎The SSG, Hon.Teslim Igbalaye, appreciated the dedication of the movement and encouraged members to remain focused and committed to the collective goal, progress and continuity in Osun State.

ADELEKE’S EXIT FROM PDP: A DECISIVE STEP FOR OSUN’S STABILITY – OSUN GRASSROOT MOVEMENT

The Osun Grassroot Movement (OGM) commends the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, for his bold and timely decision to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This action reflects true leadership, clarity of purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the peace and progress of Osun State.

With the PDP engulfed in internal crisis and legal uncertainties, the Governor has chosen a path that protects the people’s mandate and safeguards Osun from avoidable political risks. His exit effectively shuts down any attempt at a “Zamfara-style” disruption or mandate sabotage.

For months, citizens have expressed concern over the deepening PDP crisis. Today, Mr. Governor has acted in line with the wishes of the people—prioritizing stability, development, and the future of our dear state.

OGM remains confident that wherever Governor Adeleke aligns politically, the people of Osun will stand firmly with him. His performance, accessibility, and love for the masses speak louder than any party label.

As statewide mobilisation continues, we affirm that his re-election is not only achievable but divinely favoured and widely supported.

PRESS STATEMENT
OSUN GRASSROOT MOVEMENT CONDEMNS KILLING IN ILESA, CALLS FOR URGENT SECURITY INTERVENTION

The Osun Grassroot Movement strongly condemns the brutal killing that occurred in Ilesa yesterday, where a man popularly known as “Gamani” was murdered in what has been identified as a political rivalry clash.

It is no longer news that the long-standing rivalry between Ambo and Omisore camps has taken a dangerous dimension. The killing of this notorious political thug, allegedly attacked by an opposing group linked to one of the APC aspirants, is a clear indication that some desperate individuals are ready to employ violence in their quest to occupy the Bola Ige House at all costs.

Osun State has enjoyed relative peace under the present administration until individuals with destructive tendencies introduced violence into the political space. This worrisome development threatens the peace and stability of our dear state.

We urgently call on all security agencies to wade into this matter and ensure that criminal elements and their sponsors are fished out before they plunge Osun into chaos. As of this morning, reports reaching us indicate that some notorious thugs believed to be affiliated with the APC have been destroying properties, vehicles, and market stalls belonging to innocent residents at the popular roundabout in Ilesa.

It is important to recall that in February 2025, these same violent elements were involved in the killing of some PDP leaders in Ilesa during their desperate attempt to forcefully take over the LG Secretariat.

We therefore call on the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other relevant security bodies to act swiftly to protect the lives and properties of innocent citizens.

No political ambition is worth the blood of any Osun citizen. We must not allow the peace of our state to be sacrificed on the altar of desperation.

OSUN GRASSROOT MOVEMENT CONGRATULATES HON. ADETUNJI AJALA ON HIS APPOINTMENT AS SPECIAL ADVISER TO THE YOUTH WING OF THE CHRISTIAN COUNCIL OF NIGERIA (OS-YOWICCN)

The Osun Grassroot Movement (OGM) extends warm congratulations to Hon. Adetunji Ajala, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Rural Development and Community Affairs, on his official inauguration as the Special Adviser to the Youth Wing of the Christian Council of Nigeria (YOWICCN), Osun State Chapter.

The inauguration ceremony, held on Sunday, 23rd November 2025, at The African Church, Christ Cathedral, Isale Ijebu, Osogbo, was conducted by His Lordship, The Rt. Rev’d James O. Bamidele, Chairman of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), Osun State. The event marked a significant step in fostering stronger collaboration between faith-based leadership and youth-focused development initiatives within the state.

Hon. Ajala’s appointment is a testament to his unwavering commitment to youth development, moral leadership, and grassroots empowerment. His consistent efforts in community service, civic engagement, and public administration have distinguished him as a dependable advocate for young people across Osun State.

In his remarks, Hon. Ajala expressed profound gratitude to the leadership of OS-YOWICCN for the confidence placed in him. He pledged to remain dedicated to mentoring young Christian leaders, promoting value-driven participation in governance, and strengthening youth involvement in nation-building.
