SIR OGOCHUKWU EKWUEME INAUGURATES THE SOLUTION YOUTHPRENEUR SUPPORT GROUP ORUMBA NORTH CHAPTER

Today marked the official inauguration of the Orumba North chapter of the Solution Youthpreneur Support Group by the Transition Chairman Sir Ogochukwu Ekwueme, at the local government secretariat, Ajalli.

The grassroots group has been established with the aim of disseminating the policies and initiatives of Governor Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo to the local communities.

During the inauguration ceremony, Sir Ekwueme urged the members of the group, who have benefited from the "One Youth, Two Skills" program across all communities in Orumba North LGA, to actively engage in networking and advocacy to ensure that the Governor's message reaches every corner of the council.

The group leaders extended their gratitude to the chairman for his unwavering support, pledging to diligently uphold the positive influence of the state government in their lives.

ORUMBA NORTH LGA INTER-SCHOOL ESSAY COMPETITION: 1ST EDITION.

The Orumba North Local Government is delighted to introduce the Inter-School Essay Competition, a program dedicated to fostering academic excellence among students within our community.

The competition is split into primary, junior secondary and senior secondary and the top three participants in each division will receive prizes for their schools.

Primary School:
1st Prize: Ulesson tablet
2nd Prize: ₦75,000
3rd Prize: ₦50,000
Essay Word Limit: 250 words

Junior Secondary School;
1st Prize: Laptop
2nd Prize: ₦75,000
3rd Prize: ₦50,000
Essay Word Limit: 350 words.

Senior Secondary School:
1st Prize: Laptop
2nd Prize: ₦75,000
3rd Prize: ₦50,000
Essay Word Limit: 500 words.

Entry/Registration Fee: None

In addition, there will be consolation prizes for participants, and the top 30 writers will be invited to attend a 2-day writing bootcamp and excursion.

We encourage all Principals and Head Teachers of schools in Orumba North to submit their entries by the 3rd of May 2024 at the local government Secretariat or email a copy of the essay to [email protected].

This competition represents our steadfast commitment to nurturing a generation of intellectually proficient individuals.

ORUMBA NORTH NANO BUSINESS GRANT BATCH 1: 52 RECIPIENTS RECEIVE ₦50,000 GRANTS FROM THE TC CHAIRMAN SIR OGOCHUKWU EKWUEME

The Orumba North Nano Business Grant Batch 1 program was a remarkably significant event that took place at the Orumba North LGA Secretariat. Sir Ogochukwu Nnamdi Ekwueme presented 52 lucky winners with a cheque of Fifty thousand Naira ( #50,000) each.

The beneficiaries were from all 16 communities in Orumba North, including 5 JONAPID [ JOINT NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PEOPLES WITH DISABILITIES] members and 2 non-indigenes who are residents of the area.

In his opening remarks, Sir Ogochukwu Ekwueme explained that the Nano Business Grant was designed to infuse capital into nano businesses and stimulate the local economy of Orumba North. He also announced that the top 10 performing grant recipients from Batch 1 would be eligible for a special prize in the next batch.

Mr. Sunny Umeadi, a chartered accountant, was the resource person for the event. He gave an insightful lecture on the merits of bookkeeping for nano businesses. He stressed the importance of keeping track of income and expenses, as well as the need for accurate and timely financial records.
He also highlighted the benefits of bookkeeping, including tax compliance, financial planning, and improved decision-making. It was clear that he was an expert on the topic, and his presentation was well-received by the attendees.

The highlight of the event was the brainstorming session between the Chairman and the grant recipients, where they discussed ideas and strategies for utilizing the grant funds. This was followed by the presentation of cheques to the recipients and the opening of bank accounts for them by staff of FCMB.

Various stakeholders from the local government were there to offer their support and words of encouragement to the beneficiaries.

By empowering individuals, we are empowering entire communities, and helping to create a more prosperous and livable orumba north and Anambra state at large.
