As we commemorate the noble sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), let us imbibe the virtues of devotion and selflessness embodied in Allah's words: "Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you." (Quran 22:37)

This Eid reminds us to foster unity, compassion and service to humanity within our community. May the lessons of sacrifice and obedience inspire us to be law-abiding citizens contributing to Kosofe's development, as the Quran states: "O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you..." (4:59)

The beneficiaries are the Oloworo of Oworonsoki, Oba Babatunde Saliu who got a Mercedes GLE 450, the Ologudu of Ogudu, Oba Nojimu Akinwumi Fashola and the Olojota of Ojota, Oba Jimoh Olawale-Cole who got a Toyota Highlander 2014 model each.

KOSOFE INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE: MAJOR PROGRESS ON ROAD AND DRAINAGE PROJECTS

The upgrade of Roju Avenue in Ojota as part of the Lagos State 114 roads project has commenced this week, with contractors making steady progress. Meanwhile, the drainage construction on both sides of Frederick Eze Nwosu Street in Ogudu GRA has surpassed 70% completion, promising improved flood management for residents.

Equally noteworthy is the progress at Taiwo Lane, which links Epetedo Street to Gafari Balogun Street in Ogudu. Here, both drainage and road construction works are advancing smoothly. STAKEHOLDERS CONVENE FOR KOSOFE'S CONFERENCE '57 114 ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT AT OJOTA

The much-anticipated stakeholders' meeting on the reconstruction of Roju Avenue, Ojota, under the 'Conference 57 114 Roads' initiative, was held today, May 13, 2024. The gathering witnessed a remarkable turnout, with representatives from various community groups, including the Ojota Central CDA, Kosofe CDC, Ojota Chemical Association, and Kosofe Local Government Legislative and Executive members in attendance.

During the meeting, the scope, mode of operation, duration, and benefits of the road reconstruction were thoroughly discussed. Stakeholders engaged in constructive dialogues, sharing insights and concerns to ensure a comprehensive plan tailored to the unique needs of the community.

Amidst the discussions, the people of Kosofe seized the opportunity to express their gratitude to the Executive Chairman, Barr. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, for his numerous development projects within the local government. Prior to the state-led Roju Avenue project, Ogunlewe's administration had already constructed 30 roads, 19 drainages, and various other infrastructure initiatives.

Ogunlewe adds another fleet of buses to the kosofe free transportation initiative
..as Kosofe residents continue to benefit from the local government's cost-free public transport.

After months of operation, the free shuttle service introduced by Kosofe Local Government has been met with continued success. Hon Barr Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, the driving force behind this initiative, continues to lead the efforts to ensure its ongoing sustainability by adding more busses.

During weekdays, from 7 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 7 pm at various bus stops across Oworonsoki; Ifako/Gbagada; Anthony; Mende; Ojota and Ogudu, this service grants free rides to all people of Kosofe as a reflection of the government's dedication to alleviating financial burdens. It exemplifies Hon Ogunlewe's persistent concern for people's well-being.

Kosofe's free shuttle service remains a prominent symbol of Hon. Ogunlewe's leadership. He created the free shuttle initiative to make daily transportation affordable for people regardless of their socioeconomic status. MOYO OGUNLEWE FETES RETIREES IN GRAND STYLE
..as he hosted a lavish celebration to mark end of service for dedicated council workers

Kosofe Local Government rolled out the red carpet on Wednesday 17th of April, 2024 to honor its 2023 batch of retirees in a grand ceremony attended by top dignitaries. The council premises played host to pump and pageantry as the creme de la creme gathered to celebrate the long service of the outgoing workers.

The highlight was the presentation of Certificates of Release by a representative of the Lagos State Head of Service. The retirees also received valuable guidance on managing their post-retirement lives through wise investments in the current economic climate.

Council Chairman Moyosore Ogunlewe represented by the Council Vice Chairman, Hon Oluwole Șosanya praised the retirees for their years of dedicated service and commitment to Kosofe Local Government. He wished them fulfilling golden years ahead as they embark on a new phase of life after giving their all to the local government.

The well-attended event was a fitting tribute to the hard work and loyalty of Kosofe's retiring staff members and we pray the almighty grant them the health and long life to eat the fruit of their decades long labour.
