One way to tell if someone is wasting your time is when they always say they are not the commitment type. If they say that often, then stop wondering. You have been told all you need to know.

Sending mixed signals is a clear sign that they are not 100% ready to commit. Today, they are all over you, the next day, they avoid you.

Today, you begin to think, it's going somewhere, next two days, you are just unsure what is wrong. Mixed signals are a major warning sign.

If your presence does not stop him/her from talking about the opposite s*x in a very enticing way, chances are they're time wasters. In fact, they might be consciously trying to give you the signal indirectly, to let you know they are not serious.

Little jealousy is a good thing. But no jealousy at all is a sign he/she doesnโt want anything serious.
If they are always talking about why you should open up yourself for other serious persons, how they don't want to waste your time, then you don't need prayers to know you are just wasting your time in the relationship.
If he loves you and is ready to stay, he won't be telling you that you are free to do whatever makes you happy, that he is not the jealous type.
Men who want their women for themselves show a hint of protective jealousy.

=> Their projects and what it means to them (not the two of you)
=> What they plan to achieve in the nearest future (and you are not included in that nearest future)
In fact, to find out if they are wasting your time, encourage him/her to talk about the future, and see if you are in it.

Relationship that leads to commitment grow from meeting, to knowing, to exposure, and so on. Watch out for the following...
=> Itโs a bad sign if they avoid things that would send the signal that the two of you are growing closer.
=> It's a bad sign if they never introduce you as their fiancรฉ or fiancรฉe to those that matter in their circles
=> It's a bad sign if they keep you away from their family and friends.

There is a difference between lust-based relationship and love based relationship. If you are sincere and not blind, you will know this.
IN CONCLUSION
There are always warning signs that you might be in the wrong relationship. A time wasting relationship. Don't ignore the signs.
Trying so hard to keep a relationship that is wrong will not yield the right results.
