‎The Enterprise Development Center (EDC) of the Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, in partnership with the Niger State Social Investment Program (NSIP) Office, proudly held the graduation ceremony of 400 young women entrepreneurs who successfully completed intensive training under the Transforming Nigerian Youths Program.

‎The graduation, which took place in Minna, marked a major milestone in empowering women in Niger State with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to build sustainable businesses, create jobs, and contribute meaningfully to the state’s socio-economic development.

‎Speaking at the opening event, the Special Adviser on Social Investment Programs, Hon. Hauwa Bako, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the State Government’s vision to promote economic inclusion, reduce unemployment, and support women to thrive as active contributors to household income and community growth.

‎The training program, delivered by the Enterprise Development Center under the Transforming Nigerian Youths initiative, combined classroom sessions, hands-on business management modules, mentorship, and financial literacy support. The 400 women entrepreneurs were drawn from across Niger State, representing diverse sectors including agriculture, fashion, food processing, trade, and services.

‎Highlights of the ceremony included testimonies from selected participants, presentation of certificates, and an exhibition of products and services developed by the women during the program.

‎The Special Adviser to the Niger State Governor, Honorable Hauwa Bako Mohammed , visited Mokwa Local Government, joining the Niger State CCT Head of Operations and Program Manager, Mallam Sulaimon, to oversee the disbursement process of direct financial support to 780 vulnerable households. This initiative is part of the Federal Government's Renewed Hope Economic Shocks Response, aimed at cushioning the effects of current economic pressures.

‎This effort was made possible through the collaborative support of Mint Finex (619 beneficiaries) and TagPay (161 beneficiaries). We believe this will help communities and households affected by disasters and economic hardship.

‎Furthermore, this initiative is part of a broader effort to reach over 180,000 households across Niger State. It is implemented through the National Social Safety-nets Project - Scale Up (NASSP-SU) and the Household Prosperity and Empowerment Programme.
